I want to start by saying I have always had a great experience here. But this was my first time with this one particular server who was just atrocious.
Mr. Undercut with manbun. I have never had a server so unwilling to just do the bare minimum of their job. After already having to pull teeth to get this guy to take our order, we notified him we'd have another guest arriving and would be placing another order soon. Well after an HOUR, Mr underbun still had not dropped by. One of our party went in to notify someone that we had wanted to order but our server never came out, and would be checking out. From that point, after waiting an additional 20 minutes, mr grumpy STILL did not come out to us. One of our party had to seek him out personally so we could check out.
I understand having a bad day. I get not feeling it or not being on the mood. But dude you literally have a bare minimum to do so your employer can operate and you're not even doing that. The fact this guy is still employed after my party has has several experiences like this with him is remarkable.
Every other person we've ever had at Bosque is pleasant and competent. But this guy seemed to abhore your very existence and do everything in his power to make you want to walk out on a check due to losing patience.
Bosque very clearly has a pretty good standard and I'd say 99.99% of everyone working their meets it. But Jesus Christ dude when you're paid to do a job just do it. It doesn't matter if you're not smiling, but not visiting a table for over an hour is how you lose money. We could have left and nobody would have known because we hadn't been checked on.
Anyways, if you visit this location and see mr fits the description, politely ask for someone else. Or just don't sit outside. Maybe the guy had a phobia of the outdoors. But either way he is grossly incompetent and unwilling to do help. Bro we are TRYING TO GIVE YOU OUR MONEY. THIS IS A SIMPLE BUSINESS TRANSACTION. OUR GUEST LEFT WITHOUT ORDERING ANYTHING.
Will still visit again but will be very direct about who helps...
Read moreI have been going to Bosque several times a week since I started at the university about a year ago. The food is great and they always have a great selection of beer no matter what time of year it is but I have 2 pieces of advice for anyone thinking of visiting. Unless it is either Pat or Grim cooking do NOT eat! I have food allergies so I always have to ask for my food to be prepared special and the only two cooks to get it right on a consistent basis are those two. Do NOT bother even sitting down if the manager Dakota is working (you'll know its her because she will be the blonde sitting around with her face in her phone not even looking up when someone talks directly to her). She is always extreme rude to both the employees and the customers and walks around like shes owns the place (if she ever gets off of her phone). I have tried to contact corporate on several occasions concerning the treatment I've gotten from her but I'm always told there is no one available for me to talk to and that will call me back only to never hear from anyone. This makes me think(especially after reading the other reviews) that corporate knows how she is but they simply don't care. I really do love this place they have a great atmosphere and when the employees aren't walking on eggshells the service is great! I feel bad that I have to leave a poor rating because of...
Read moreI like their beer and atmosphere so this is a place I visit regularly. Once a week on average. Many good beer options, Jetty Jack, Elephants on parade is a good summer beer. I will no longer eat there as a vegetarian. They have a “vegetation tax” $4 to substitute out a meat patty for a vegetarian patty. $2.50 for no chicken on nachos but beans instead- this up charge was not disclosed on menu. Really!! Veggie tax is a bit extreme when beans cost less than meat. I did mention this to my server who didn’t care. Not a single main entree for vegetarians other than $20 burger. SO prepare to leave hungry or broke. I think they should offer a black bean burger substitute instead of beyond beef so a vegetarian burger doesn’t cost $20. Update- So by now I have had every veg possibility on the menu: which is so limited so that didn’t take long. Their falafel appetizer is $13 and the serving is so small. Every time I’ve paid too much and left hungry. Think posh Santa Fe pricing for poor quality. Expect to be up-charged (punished) for being a vegetarian. I will no longer eat there. They apparently don’t want business from any one with a vegetarian in their group. So that’s 6 people in our case that won’t be eating there again. Since my family default to let me pick the...
