Came on a rainy day so the door was suctioned shut so you do have to yank a bit harder for it to open. Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - We were a little nervous since there were a few reviews that mentioned it was bland and flavorless, but we didn't want Panda Express so we gave this restaurant a chance anyway.
L4) Beef Pepper Steak lunch special with fried rice, chow mein, and soup of the day (4/5). The small egg drop soup with corn was appreciated since it was so cold outside. Unfortunately, the fried rice and chow mein wasn't nearly as good as the combination fried rice. This fried rice was a lot more plain and the noodles were very oily. The beef pepper steak came with a healthy amount of bell peppers that were sweet and offset the slightly too salty protein. Overall, still a good dish but nothing too special.
Ambience: 5/5 - very clean shop for the dining area but a bit of clutter with equipment and boxes in the kitchen and the side of the restaurant. Kitchen noises are very prominent with no music. Pretty consistent calls for to-go orders. The open kitchen does let you watch the chef and his wok skills are impressive!
Service: 5/5 - friendly but to the point. At one point in time, she was managing multiple phone calls, pick up orders, and the tables in the shop at the same time
Value for price: 5/5 - the items cooked to order were great but the batch fried rice and chow mein was not too impressive. Still, great value for the amount of...
Read moreI wanted General Tso's Chicken and it's getting harder to find somewhere that makes it good. I didn't want Panda Express , but something close to it and Panda doesn't do General Tso's and they quit selling my favorite Sweet Fire Chicken Breast a long time ago. Well this was my first time and last time coming here. I got the Lunch Special which was very reasonably priced. I guess you get what you paid for.
The lady that took my order was nice and the cooks were busy making fresh food for a few customers. Dining area was clean as I waited for my to go order. My food was hot and they gave me good size portions. The problem was the food itself. The cashier asked if I wanted it Spicy and I said yes. It was not spicy. In fact it had hardly any sauce on it at all.
The chicken pieces were very dry. General Tso's comes with pineapple and green peppers. There was one piece of pineapple and one piece of green pepper and one piece of broccoli. I ended up putting sweet and sour sauce that I had packets of from another restaurant from before because it was so dry and tasteless.
The fried rice was also bland and I added soy sauce to. The noodles were fat which I thought would make them taste better , but nope , the same tasteless and not very good. I added soy sauce to it too. I was starving so I ate a little over half and threw the rest away. I would not recommend...
Read moreI've been to this location twice and I must say, the first time I thought I would never go to panda express again. Upon my second time I called to place my order to then go pick it up. They said it would take two minutes, and I ended up waiting 10 minutes after getting there. After waiting for those ten minutes, while I'm sitting down the lady brings my food, sets it on a different table, doesn't say thank you or have a nice day. I also asked if they could make my noodles without any of the vegetables, and they said they couldn't do that and it would be a one dollar extra charge for it because they chef would have to take it all out by hand. While I'm sitting down, before my food is brought, I see them take out the noodles and vegetables SEPARATELY, and mix them together. Because of that, I can easily say that they have TERRIBLE service and don't show their customers any respect (and they're greedy, for a damn dollar). I disliked their service so much, that I will never go back for the food. Terrible service and no respect for their customers, with very little...
