When I asked where to take my granddaughter for dinner, my daughter highly recommended Ohjah's. She went so far as to say that, in her opinion, it was head and shoulders better than Benihana's in Los Angeles, which is where we are from. Are they still open? I thought the owner went to prison for money laundering or something similar. This Ohjah at 8991 Sahara Ave is relatively new, so we ended up here last Friday evening. I wasn't overwhelmed with the taste of the food. There was way too much salt and garlic in everything cooked. While my granddaughter said she liked it, she ate almost nothing. But for those of you with a 5-year-old, don't they generally like everything, and if not, spit it out in your hand or, if you're fast enough, in a napkin? The one positive was the teppanyaki chef, who was enthusiastic and talkative. My granddaughter loved the show, especially the volcano and train made with onions. I wouldn't return for the food, but if my grandaughter wanted to return for the theatrics, I'd do so in a heartbeat.

We love to have special celebrations here. If you never have experienced Teppanyaki grill you must try it. They cook your food right in front of you on a cooktop with various culinary artistry like the volcano onion, and cutlery feats. It's usually a great show. Ohjah has a full traditional Japanese menu plus sushi. We rarely order anything not for the grill but the few times we did the food was great too. My kids get the Filet Mignon and I usually get the chicken plus a shrimp side. You order included miso soup, a Japanese salad, fried rice and your entree with vegetables. All grilled to order with flavorful sauces to boot. For me this has more of an experience or special celebrations place to eat but Ohjah can accommodate both special occasions or just a great dinner. It's a little pricey for the Teppanyaki but not unreasonable at all. Try it, you'll come back again!

This place is freaking amazing! My wife and I went in for Hibachi and left full and happy. We have been to almost everyone of these in the valley trying to see who has the best flavors or who can give you a flavor bomb in your mouth. We finally found the one, we drove from North Las Vegas to try this one out and they didn’t disappoint. Same bombs we’re amazing, shrimp tempura was amazing and food from Chef Fon was next level he really packed in the flavors for each course Fried rice and noodles amazing flavor, shrimp and ribeye next level we can’t wait to come back again! Thank you for a great evening Chef Fon and serving staff we will be back.

My family and I went here 8/21/22 for my sister's birthday and because it was rated 4 1/2 stars. As much as I liked that their sushi was fresh, the service was very slow and terrible. I ordered a melon cream soda to drink that came with no cup with ice. Probably they thought it was too big of a task to do that. You'd think in a high grade sushi restaurant you get more than just the bottle but I ended up letting it pass because they seemed real busy that day.

The food here was delicious despite it took a long time for them to bring out the Sushi boat. We had the dark cycle sushi 4.5/5, fried vegetables 4/5, Sashimi 4/5

In the end of our visit, the waiter gave us the check but didn't ask if we wanted dessert like they wanted us out of there. I have not been to restaurants where the waiter doesn't ask if you care for dessert. Also it's kind of no surprise the same thing happened to another Yelp reviewer where they didn't ask if they wanted dessert. It's kind of a shame because the boat load sushi, and fried vegetable appetizers were tasty but the bad service we doubt we use Ohjah as our go to sushi as I've been to better sushi restaurants with better service...

I've been to other Ohjah restaurants in this city and will say that this one was slightly disappointing. Perhaps it was just bad timing or plain unlucky but the guy cooking our food definitely wasn't as entertaining as I've experienced before in other establishments. In the beginning, his lighter didn't work so he casually took his time and slowly walked to the back while the food was still cooking on the grill. When he finally arrived, he didn't even make the effort to try his performance again (the coveted, stacked onion rings). I'm making it a big deal because my daughter had a friend visiting and it was her first time at a hibachi-style restaurant. Additionally, these chefs need to improve their measuring skills. I get very annoyed when they always skimp out on my portion, yet they give others a lot more. Aside from all of this, the flavor of the food remains the same so nothing negative about that. The rest of the restaurant staff were friendly, and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was adequate. I probably won't be coming back to this establishment anytime soon, but may decide to visit another Ohjah in this city in...

10 months ago i gave this location 5 stars. Idk if it’s new owners but the service has gone down the drain. I came to eat here last night, and I ordered the hibachi… I never got my food, after 30 minutes of waiting I asked where is it, and the waitress Karen, says the ticket never printed. That’s a lie, because the person with me got their food, and we were on the same ticket. They literally just forgot. We had a movie to go see so I did not even get to end up having dinner bc we had to leave. And this isn’t the first time, we came here a couple months ago to the specific location, and I asked him for curry, with only potatoes and carrots. They brought it to me with every vegetable and the book except potatoes and carrots, and I told them I’m allergic to mushrooms that’s why I requested it a specific way, and they took the food back and dug the mushrooms out and brought me back the same plate…thinking i wouldn’t notice. And I sent to them again, I ordered it with potatoes and carrots only and then he finally says to me oh we don’t have that as an option. As a waiter or waitress you in Las Vegas, You should set higher standards...
