I've tried this restaurant about 6-7 times since it's opening date. I enjoy the location of this restaurant because it's conveniently located close to the gym I go to, so I can work out and then pick something up for my family and I - nothing like working out and getting some unhealthy food afterwards. But hey, I don't do this often...mostly on Tuesdays to celebrate "Taco Tuesdays."
My family and I have tried the Carne Asada Plate, Carne Asada Burrito, Carnitas Taco, Asada Nachos, Super Nachos, Two Beef Tamale Plate, and Two Beef Tacos. So far, everything we've tried was amazing. There was one time where I thought the carne asada was a little drier than other visits, but the flavor was still there and the overall quality was consistent throughout most visits. I especially like those pickled vegetables (carrots, onions, and jalapenos) they serve; it matches up perfectly with their food. The one thing I'm unsure of is if the pickled veggies are supposed to be crunchy or a softer texture because majority of the time, it's been crunchy (my preferred way); however, recently, it wasn't crunchy at all. Definitely not a reason to eliminate this restaurant as a must-have since you don't pay for those veggies...but just wanted to throw that out there.
The quantity of food you receive is phenomenal. More often than not, I arrive here starving so I immediately order a lot of food because I forget they give large portions, only to remember when I get home that it's way too much food for me. But hey, my family and I don't eat here often, so when we do, it's good to experience a bunch of different menu items even if we don't finish it.
I also enjoy how fast they prepare your food here, which is comforting when you're super hungry. Definitely a must-try for those that have never been to...
Read moreThis was my 1st time here, I didn't let the lack of everything in there. It was a discussion among 3 people of they had a taco salad since it wasn't on l on the menu. I did ask since the majority of Mexican restaurants I've been in have one. The girl up front seemed to hand no clue what she was doing. I put that aside, believing she could be new. I ended up ordering a Taco salad, enchiladas, and tacos. When I went to get the red and green salsa and the stone carrots and peppers, there wasn't anything for me to put them in. When I asked the girl if they had anything, she looked at me, as she had no clue what I was asking for. Finally, I got home to eat my taco salad. Now, I've had many, many taco salads from different establishments, so I know what I should be getting. When I opened up my container, my taco salad was completely soaked with something, I don't know what. Based on what we discussed about what the taco salad had, none of those food products should have left my salad soaked. Then my husband said that the taco wasn't good at all. So, don't think we will be...
Read moreNo issues at all with our visit, everything was great!
Spacious restaurant, with tons of room for a crowd. Staff was very polite and friendly (even the cooks said good morning from the kitchen!). Prices were good, and even lower than advertised on the menu board when I looked at the receipt!
Our burritos were piping hot when they came out, a bit narrower and longer than a comparable burrito at Roberto's, which is nice because you don't get as messy like a wider burrito. The most impressive thing was a the complete lack of grease towards the bottom; normally breakfast burritos (or any burritos, really) can collect a lot of grease at the bottom and even blow out the tortilla. These were grease-free, and the tortilla was cooked perfectly, it was thick, soft, and chewy. Green sauce had some great kick, red sauce was a bit too hot for breakfast, but good nonetheless.
Definitely give these guys a try, we'll be coming back to try a combination plate sometime, I'll update the review if anything changes.
Great...
