This location is the only Dutch Bros. I have tried. I moved closer to downtown, so naturally being a lover of the 3 C's ( coffee, chocolate, cannabis), I went in search of my new favorite places. The first time I went to this DB I found the menu to be very foreign for a life-time coffee drinker. It felt like I should have researched it before I went. Trying to order an "ice coffee" in non-Dutch-speak was very frustrating. (Now that I am a regular things are much easier) There is no coffee just espresso, ice coffee= iced americano. My 1st drink was really quite good. However, the next 4 times, the drink and the price were extremely inconsistent, prompting me to have a convo about it. The manager made sure my order was to my liking, she was super sweet and friendly, (opposed to the more common snarkish demeanor of today's 20' somethings professionals) and made sure to say Hi every time after that. The young people that work here are friendly, nice, talkative, polite, genuine, and this company gives them the freedom to also be their authentic selves, which I applaud! Plus I LOVE the music!!! Just like the lovely employees, I am human, and life would be boring if it were the same thing everyday, all day, 365 days a year. In order to grow we must continue to learn new things, about the world, and about ourselves, whether it be a new coffee menu, or the right way to enjoy an iced americano. The employees at Dutch Bros may look different than what you see at other coffee shops but that is because they are given the opportunity to be real. You honor that by being real yourself, even if it means confessing you have no idea what to order because the menu, though in English, leaves you with more questions than answers. Being real means telling them what you prefer, if you need a little more this, or a little more that, and that you appreciate them in making sure you are happy. Lastly, tipping. My tipping is based on my happiness with service and the quality of the product. Yes, tipping $1 on a $4 item can seem a bit much at times, but from my view, the happy employees at this location earn it. If you break it down, 10%= 40 cents, so $1= 40 cents for their hard work, 40 cents for their happy attitude, and that extra 20 cents for making me happy because they care....
Read moreThis location is horrible! I went to the drive threw this morning and literally waited for 5 mins while the employee sat and had a casual conversation with the gentlemen in the car at the window. The woman in the car ahead of me must've gotten impatient like myself after watching several cars pull in behind us having to sit and wait after the employee had already handed the gentlemen his drink (inconsiderate) disregarding the other customers. The woman decided to honk her horn and the employee gave her a really nasty look and yelled your drink isn't ready yet and continue the conversation with the gentlemen. When he finally pulled off, the woman in the vehicle ahead of me pulled up and her and the employee exchanged words! I could hear the employee being very rude and dismissive meanwhile the woman was repeatedly asking for her drink! Eventually I could hear the woman asking for a refund (which I don't blame her) in which the employee response was say please! Like are u freaking kidding me I just sat in disbelief because she could've just given the woman her order that she had already paid for and been done with the entire situation. The employee was unprofessional and extremely aggressive and deserved whatever she got because she provoked the entire situation. They need better training on communication and customer service! As for now I will still continue to be a loyal customer and will not let one bad apple spoil the bunch! But I will absolutely NOT be returning back to this...
Read moreI am a regular customer at this location—I drive a white Jeep and come almost every single day. Normally, the girls who take my order are so sweet and respectful, but unfortunately, today was a very disappointing experience.
After placing my drive-through order, I pulled up to the window and even tipped before any interaction. The girl at the window mispronounced my name, which I politely corrected, but she looked visibly annoyed. That already set the tone, but I let it go.
Then, when she read back my order, she only mentioned one substitution. I asked politely if the others were included, and instead of simply confirming, she gave me attitude while reading it back, finishing with, “is that good?” in a tone that came across as snarky and condescending. I said yes, just to move on.
A second employee behind her noticed the drink had been made incorrectly and fixed it right away, which I appreciated—thank you to her for paying attention. But the way I was treated at the window was unnecessary and unprofessional.
I don’t expect anyone to go out of their way for me, but I do expect basic respect, especially as a loyal customer. The difference between how I’m normally treated here and how I was treated today was unfair and discouraging. Sadly, after this experience, I will not...
