SERVICE & TRANSITIONS -- 👍 good A well-lit, clean, & polished lobby with a welcoming atmosphere. The decor was impressive here, then flat everywhere else. Hospitality was consistent & strong from reception to security staff. A++. $25 early checkin fee (+ tax) killed the vibe though 😕. MVP employees: Terrance
ROOM [Premier Double Queen] -- 👍 https://youtu.be/6Cy2R28r-Xo Typical Double floorplan with decent tabletop space, seating, & storage for 2. Wallpaper has seen much MUCH better days OTOH & the colors were boring (old-world browns). Thankfully south/southeast facing rooms receive plenty of natural light, salvaging the mood. It's pretty bare bones outside of that.
BED (Double) -- 👎 bad Unenjoyable sleep experience. I felt no support from either of the mattresses. Linens were rough & the pillow set was more decorative than functional. Just not a great composition.
BATH -- 👍 great Dimensions were on the smaller side but it was a clean, simple, & effective space. Grout lines were pristine & the tiles themselves were beautiful. The shower experience was similarly impressive, delivering top-tier water pressure. Towels were overflowing in abundance & in good condition. The toiletry line (bodyograpby) was enjoyable too.
TV/ENT./ACTIVITIES -- 👍 good A noteworthy entertainment center, minus the poorly designed remote. The TV solution was generic but the actual display was solid, installed on a flexible, premium mount 👌. A movie theatre & outdoor pool are also on the property (a bit of a walk due to the layout). In the casino were a large number of slots & a healthy number of table games active. Enrolling into the rewards program was buttery smooth due to how seamlessly it's integrated into the checkin process. Great customer experience on this front + rewards are more competitive than other brands.
WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- 👍 good Reasonable speeds for a free (insecure) tier. Cellular service was a struggle inside the room 😞. --Performance-- Video streaming - good Online gaming - good Video chatting - good --Nerd Stats-- 11-14 Mbps download 11-53 Mbps upload 0% packet loss 12 ms latency 2 ms jitter
FOOD & DRINK -- 👍 ok Not DoorDash friendly. Snacks & beverages in the gift shop are overpriced; you're better off walking the (literal) 2 minutes to 7-11. Big chain restaurants like Wingstop & Panda Express can be found on the gaming floor. Wingstop service was disappointing: fry cooks need more training & professionalism. There's also a Starbucks on site (consistently out of ingredients). in-room: ❌ microwave (mini) ❌ mini-fridge (small) ❌ coffee ❌ tea ❌ wet-bar ❌ mini-bar
NOISE -- 👎👎 bad Prepare for Thin Walls™️ & pray guests in the adjoining room aren't into howling like wolves... or housekeepers choose to sort (glass) trash outside a different room @ 9am.
LOCATION -- 👍 great I felt safe as a minority. Security presence was strong & alert, consistently checking key cards. Parking services were convenient, offering valet & self-park options.
RECOMMENDATION & RATING Price: $88.99/night Was it worth it: yes Best part: activities Accommodations were quite bare bones (think Gold Coast hotel) & noisy. The gaming experience + amenities made up for it & I found myself enjoying this property a lot. I could see myself staying here again due to the competitive pricing & gambling rewards. Highly recommend this property if considering something up north & away from the...
Read moreI want to preface this review stating that this is solely on the restaurant/casino/rewards areas of the property and not the hotel portion since I have not had the opportunity to stay at Palace Station...yet. Comparing this property with all the other Station properties across the valley...I'd say that this one is "just ok," hence the 3-star rating. My family and I have visited this property on a few occasions, to include a recent visit on 3 May 2024. My wife and I happen to be in the area and since stopping at a Station property was still on the daily agenda, we figured we'd swing by here instead of making a special trip to our "normal" Station property (Santa Fe) to pick up our Friday gift.
First and foremost, I really enjoy the renovations that this property has made throughout the years, to include its recent transformation - it definitely gives you the modern feel as you walk through the establishment, similar to a lot of those properties on the Las Vegas strip. I haven't done the research but I think Palace Station is smaller than the majority of the other Station properties in the valley...well, at least it felt that way for me. Whenever we were playing on the casino floor or just walking between machines and people, it seemed very tight in some areas. This may not bother some folks but I enjoy my space...I mean, people already can't seem to walk without walking right next to you or bump into your chair while you're playing (which I can never understand). Regardless, this casino does have a variety of machines, to include most, if not all of the popular games.
The restaurants are similar to the ones I'm used to seeing at Santa Fe Station (Charcoal Room, Brass Fork, Oyster Bar, etc.)...so if it's anything similar to the experiences we've had at Santa Fe, then these restaurants are a must have. The one thing I wasn't a fan of seeing is the limited seating at Oyster Bar - I'm very impatient and can't see myself waiting in that "always" long line to eat there. But hey, that's why I'm grateful there is one closer to my house and much larger to accommodate more customers/parties. The food court is not that robust...I think I only saw two fast food restaurants there; three, if you count Starbucks.
The one, minor issue I had with this property during my recent visit was the free gift pick-up. As a long-standing Chairman rewards member, I have never had any issues picking up my gift at other Station properties without having to specifically obtain the required points for that property. I thought since the system was all the same, it doesn't matter where I obtained my points. But apparently, this property only awards the gift if you spend the money/obtain the points on that property. It was a little annoying, but I ended up getting the points anyway to get the free gift.
I'll update my review and rating (if applicable), if I end up doing a staycation. But for now, I still recommend this property to everyone, especially the visitors that want a break from all the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas strip. If anything, at least visit this property to say you were on the same property as that one famous dude (reference, or look up on the internet "Room 1203 at Palace Station"). This property isn't bad at all, but as a Las Vegas local, I prefer other Station properties...
Read moreHello, my friends and I stopped by to dine at The Palace Station Oyster bar on 12/23/23. We arrived around the 12:30am and waited at the line for approximately two hours until I all of a sudden had a panic attack. Just in case as many people are not too aware of what it is, some people get panic/anxiety attacks with trigger but there are also some people that get panic/anxiety attack without any trigger. As for me, it comes and goes without any special event that affects it. When panic attack happens, blood circulation extremely decreases to the point it almost does not circulate which causes temporary loss of eye sight and partial hearing along with other side effects. I also have a medical condition, heart murmur, which can also worsen the effects of a panic attack. When this unfortunate event happened, due to not being able to walk, see, or hear properly with cold sweat, I dragged myself to an empty table to lower my position to better my condition. For extra information, I did not drink or smoke marijuana or do any kind of drugs before or after I arrived at this place. However, the moment I let my body rest on the table and seated myself, a lady came over and very rudely said you cannot sleep here I need you to leave. If anybody is all of a sudden crashing their body after being in a line for two hours in front of the table that they could not help but crash into, I believe that the right procedure is to first ask if that person is okay. However she insisted I leave the place immediately. I continuously asked her that I cannot move, see, or hear properly at the moment that I need to just rest for a few minutes. I guaranteed her that I am not sleeping by continuously bringing myself to speak to her in such a condition in which she kept responding with a laugh “well you look like you’re sleeping to me. I need you to leave right now I can’t have you sleep on the table”. My friends later told me that she was supposedly the manager that was sitting in front of the table that I brought myself to rest at and when the security guard came I reexplained my condition in which she was considerate yet hopelessly repeated and relayed the words of the manager. After I got better I told the manager that I will drag myself out and made myself clear that I was not sleeping and when I asked for her name she said it was Lea. She was an Asian lady with glasses. It was very bizarre to me that medical conditions are looked the other way by someone in a position of a manager and that a patient is laughed at while going through such...
