In general it is an okay place, similar to a place we used to eat at in LA, named Burrito King. We live nearby so have gone there a number of occasions. Tonight was not the first time we were disappointed. I called for a simple order of two different burritos, asking to subtract rice in one, add beans in another. They said 15 mins for pickup. I went there in time but they had forgotten the phone order, strange too since there was only one visible customer eating at a table. I repeated the order in spanish to the cook, who shook his head, and proceeded to make it. When I got home, they actually did add (very few) beans to the meat burrito, and got the other burrito wrong, subtracting both the rice AND the beans, not what I asked for. Furthermore, my meat burrito was only warm, not really hot like it should be. Suffice it to say, I will probably not go there any more. Perhaps some of their other locations are better staffed, these workers here were just going through the motions lackadaisically. I will probably only return here for their Wednesday hard shell taco specials, currently at 1.49 each (these also have way too much shredded chicken but cannot complain given the price. I would much rather they took half the chicken meat out and spiced it up with more vegetables, but it is what it is,...
Read moreRestaurant on Eastern, went in earlier, worst service ever! I oredered a #13, #10 & carne asada fries, 2 horchatas, and a medium soda. I given the cup for soda, then yelled at to get my horchatas. When I go get them, they lady is giving me attitude about how she already told me the drinks were ready, and said it in a very rude manner. Then, they forgot the #10, I wasn't given a receipt, and when they looked at their copy, it didn't show a #10, but I was charged almost $40. The lady then comes over and says, yes she did order it, I dont know why it isn't showing up on the receipt. I ordered it to eat there and they packed everything into to-go bags, no cucumbers on bar and salsa verde was out as well. Ok, so we finally get our #10, we asked for no pico de gallo because my husband detests onion and they loaded the plate with it, we were given corn tortillas even though we ordered flour... no apologies, no nothing except bad attitude and dirty looks. The cook was the only one who seemed apologetic and told me he would fix it promptly, the other 2 ladies were completely rude, not professional in the least, completely worthless of customer service and I will NOT return to this location EVER! I can understand something going wrong, or a small mix up, but one after another and attitude from the start is...
Read moreReviews for Roberto's overall seem so mixed, so I was hesitant to try it. There are not many late night options in the area, so being open 24/7 is a huge plus.
I've gone a couple times now and I'm a huge fan of their chicken and their carne asada! Their chicken is cooked with tomato, onion, and I think bell pepper for lots of flavor. The hard shell chicken tacos are great, and they add lots of cheese which is awesome! The carne asada always tastes fresh and the meat is tender and flavorful. My husband and my roommate both love the California burrito. Hefty portion! The carnitas here are great too, love it in their tortas. And it's served without cueritos which is my preference. Their rice and beans are good too! Plates can be a little sloppy but the food is plentiful and oh so good! Perfect for a late night bite. I also love their salsa and condiments station where you can take as much as you need of anything. Love the marinated onions!
Overall I love Roberto's! If you don't then you're...
