Roma puts nearly all other Italian restaurants in Vegas to shame. Believe me, I have been to them all. The empty plates speak for themselves. The quality, on point. The portion, JFC (forgive me, Lord). The price, you almost wonder how they're making money. Service was extremely well-executed, something I have never seen before; all the servers working together as a team on all tables, all customers. Multiple rounds by the supporting staff in cleaning the tables, offering water. The crowd is older. This place isn't the place you are sitting on your phone like a goombat. We had our children, make sure that yours are well-mannered as well. It's that kinda place, like you are in someone's home. Respect, I like it. Class. We'll be back, you've duly earned our business. Had my mother in from out of town, we're from Jersey, so you know we're ready to talk our sh*t. Not one bit, actually the opposite. My mother and wife were joking that it felt like we were being punked, but in a GOOD way, because of how pleasant everything is/was. Ooft, when my wife and mother are happy, kids are licking the plates, and we are actually getting what we are paying for (a lost art, that Roma has mastered btw), I know that we're in a good place.
I'm only upset that we've wasted so much time, money, and effort going to other Italian spots in the area, because Roma is THAT good.
(Trying to scam the family into going to snack on one of their colossal subs as I am typing this)
5 stars, well-deserved.
Chicken Marsala Chicken Parmesan Calamari
BONUS.
If you've read this far, the hack is right here. The plates of entrees (chicken, beef etc) come with a side penne with their tomatoes sauce (fresh tomatoes crush with seared garlic pointed with sweet leaf basil) or aioli toss. Ok, it's a "side", but if you have kiddos, they can share. That, along with their snacky warm garlic bread...
...ok, I'm going to get some of their subs now. Bye!
PSS. The cake slices are good for like 3+ people.
Edit: I'm here right now, 4/4, and I ordered linguini gamberi e funghi and chicken Marsala via phone, here to pickup, and only the linguini gamberi is ready and waiting for them to cook the Marsala that I ordered. Now, my other food will be cold and I'm wasting my time on my lunch break, which is why I had called in the first place. This is why I almost never provide a 5-star review without going more than once. And, that's how a business goes from 5 stars (4/1) to 3 stars only a few days later. There's not even many people here and certainly no one at the register area (been waiting for 10 minutes and no one has come here the entire time). Oversight, yes. Does it mean anything to me, yes. This is why people pay to eat out and not make food at home, the convenience.
Probably won't be back.
(1st photo from 1st visit, 2nd is me just waiting in an empty restaurant...

Reminds me of a little hole in the wall Italian place which I used to go to while growing up and spend an evening with the family. Quaint, homey. The owner did come to 'only' my table on several occasions. Which was nice but after seeing how the rest of the staff acted, I'm not sure it was for the reason I hoped it to be.
Our server was Anna. But for some reason the little Dominican server 'George' was constantly checking on my date, not me, just my date. That's pretty unprofessional. Giving her winks and head gestures like he was interested in her. Whether my date was being cordial and giving him attention or not is not the question. A server should not be doing that to a guest. Then the busser old lady, who ironically I've had problems with before, seemed to be running on the vibe and trying to get my attention. I was not even slightly interested. She kept trying to take my plate before I was done. But then when I showed her that I was annoyed, she began acting like she didn't speak English, which I knew she did because, like I said, I remembered her from before. She was practically pulling my plate out of my hands. It was extremely rude. I was tempted to tell the owner but I was on a date. I mean, clearly she could tell this was a date so that seemed intentional to ruin the vibe. $150 bucks for two is not a cheap vibe to ruin. This is something a kid at a fast food place would do.
Newcomers : Beware
So about the food. I had the salmon with lemon sauce. It was ok but it didn't come with anything but 3 pieces of shrimp and a bland sauce. Zero flavor. Oh it did come with this pathetic looking cup of pasta. Sauce was just thrown on top. No pride in that. Salmon was cooked decently though so I scarfed it down just so I didn't have to think about the 35 bucks I was spending. My date got some kind of chicken dish. I wish I had taken a picture because it literally looked like scraps of chicken breasts that they didn't even pound out evenly. Which is probably why it was drier then the bread they served. But it's like they knew it was dry because they brought her an extra saucer without even asking. Which also didn't really jump out at me like it was something worth 30-some bucks. Didn't have any seasoning. I don't think the cooks are Italian because they would be embarrassed to put these dishes out. Extremely disappointing dishes.
I was hoping for professional courteous service. It was the furthest from that. I was hoping for a flavorful dining experience, it was nothing close. Anna was actually nice but the rest of the crew ruined everything. I was sitting outside in my dates car chatting while they closed and when they came out, they sat, staring at us standing just a few yards away. Just horrible...
Read moreHad the most uncomfortable feeling there. We had a reservation for 4, but one of my friends baby tagged along. We walked through the door and my friend with her baby tells the floor host that we had a reservation. Instead of walking us to our table, she points at it and says, oh right there. It was odd but we didn't let it get to us. So we seated ourselves. We started talking and catching up but about 15min and we noticed no one came to get our drink orders. So we're looking around and we noticed that the floor host was literally standing across from our table staring at us.. Finally a waiter comes, takes our drink order and food order.. we get our drinks from the busser. It was weird but we also brushed it off..We get our drinks but We waited about 45-50min for our food to arrive. During our wait, The owner Fausto(spell check) walked over to us and asks, "Are you guys done? How was the food" we told him we haven't received our food yet and he says, "Oh sorry about that I'll go check on that, maybe we ran out of food but if you guys want pizza there's pizza next door!." The way he was saying it to us was as if he didn't want us to eat there. We watched him walk over to I guess, where the food comes out and he is talking to the floor host looking at us. The way they were looking at us was as if they didn't want us there.. and this place is small and I would say give or take there we're ONLY about 9/10 tables total in that place. About 6 was empty when we got there and it filled up and they all got their food before us. We finally get our food and as we were trying to enjoy it the owner again walks over and says "Oh you guys got your food? Okay, eat and hey, watch out for the baby the spaghetti is hot! The baby wasn't eating with us, my friend brought the baby's food to eat separate. While eating, we kept looking for our waiter but he was nowhere to be found because we wanted a refill and when he did appear he just walked pass us as if he was avoiding us. We realized everyone in there was white, while my friends were Hispanic and me being the only Polynesian it felt as if there was a race discrimination going on. The floor host was literally standing across from us, watching us. There was ONLY 1 waiter that did help us. We tipped him and thanked him for noticing us. So if anything I would recommend not going here. If you want to have a great time go...
