Milan's Pizza — Restaurant in Lathrop

Food is good - service is HORRIBLE! We went to have some pizza, gyros, etc. We got the pizza after about 10 minutes then the gyro after about 20 with no mention for the lack of food while we waited and other clients received their meals before us. We decided then to give it another shot about a week later because the food was tremendous and we figured we would have better luck. How wrong we would be! We ordered a 3 topping pizza and a salad, only to have the driver not bring our salad. We inform of this and he is shocked as to the situation, then we call back and speak to the owner who blames his driver for being "blind" and missing the salad. I then call back seconds later to remind them of the ranch dipping sauce for the meal that we had requested and the person who answered the phone apologized again, said the driver would be right back, The driver then returns with the salad and no ranch. He then goes on to blame the counter attendant who "should be replaced, but he is the owner's nephew and is constantly messing things up". We call back and get the owner who talks down to my wife, then when she hands the phone to me I am abruptly put on hold. The owner comes back on and tells me that if I want to throw a fit over ranch then he will bring me ranch. When I explain to him that it is pointless to get ranch when the food is cold and would like financial accommodation he tells me that it is ridiculous to demand that of a business. After several more retorts back and forth, being referred to as "bubba" and "buddy" several times I explained to him that we pay more for the service and an experience. The food was good. But I doubt the dish I got was halal like advertised. The owner seemed to get rude and uncomfortable when I asked if it was halal, saying, "Why do you need halal?" Mind you, I ordered the "halal chicken wrap" straight from the menu. It wasn't that big of a deal and I would have gladly got a cheese or veggie pizza instead. But he just couldn't be honest. He could easily fix this by simply taking the part that reads "halal" off the menu. Super friendly guy, but he switched very quickly at the slightest inquiry at whether his halal chicken wrap was halal. The food was really good, but he gets a 1 star for advertising halal when he knows his food is not halal. If one would lie about that, what else would they lie about??

Milan's Pizza in Lathrop is the best! (Don't be confused with other stores in the area with the same name.) The pizza is amazing, as are the kabobs - made with Halal meats. The chicken kabobs are my favorite but the beef are great too. They come with well-seasoned rice, a lovely fresh salad and some Greek bread with a fabulous chatni sauce (I like to order it with two of the sauces in lieu of the salad dressing ... it's sooo yummy!) Service is always great too, with very timely deliveries. The owner Mike is extremely friendly and attentive and he always remembers you whether you order over the phone or come into the store.
