Shells Kava Bar — Restaurant in Lauderhill

Everything about Shells is top notch! Their kava is second to none, the ambience is unique but also familiar, and the owners are both incredible human beings that have designed a really welcoming and de-stressing environment. I have frequented Shells since shortly after they opened. Frankly, I'm shocked I haven’t left a review sooner. It's never too late though, I suppose!

First time kava drinker? This is the perfect spot to have your first shell. Jared and Heather (the owners) are extremely informative and passionate about their product. If you are so inclined, you can also enjoy deliciously flavored kava that isn't just a simple added coffee creamer. These flavors are real and genuine and are a product of a labor of love. My favorite flavor is the Key Lime Pie kava, but the flavors vary every so often, so it's not always available. There are also concentrated kava shots which are delightful! Their shots are served with or without flavors, though I recommend getting the flavored ones.

Kava veteran? You probably already know about Shells... but if you haven't been by for a bula, what are you really doing with your life? In addition to the kava, there are also other consumables available like CBD infused cold brew coffee on tap, CBD tinctures and gummies, delicious kombucha, various snacks, flavorful teas, and some other goodies that you'll just have to see for yourself.

Kava time fun time! Kava bars are nothing new to BPB but Shells is the newest on the block and the first one in the Lauderhill area. They are right off university drive near some killer ethnic eats and tates comics.

Never had kava before? It's a tea made from the kava kava root mainly consumed during ceremonies in the south pacific. The traditional non-flavored kavas have bitter earthy taste and it's best to have a chaser of some sort after. It tastes pretty bad.

Soooo it tastes bad- why would one drink it? Well kava provides a natural relaxing effect not as dangerous as any RXs drugs and it also aids in detoxification.

The difference at shells: FLAVORED KAVA. When I was there they offered a White Chocolate pretzel flavor and holy smokes... It ACTUALLY tasted good. And I have tasted many kavas in the past and this is the first time I could drink it without any chaser. It's truly awesome.

Shells is owned by husband and wife couple Heather and Jared. They are true locals both born and raised here. When you visit you may even get to meet the future kava master their son Malcolm! They have done a great job with decorating the space and the amazing mural was painted by Heather.

I've been to Shells Kava Bar over 30 times now, and each visit has been nothing short of fantastic. The ambiance is perfect for unwinding after a long day or for a chill meetup with friends. The bartenders truly make the place shine—always friendly, they add a personal touch that makes every experience unique and enjoyable.

One standout feature is their Kratom drink selection, especially the "Three Dragons" from the tap. I've tried a few variations, and the White Three Dragons is by far my favorite with its smooth, invigorating blend that's perfect for both new and seasoned visitors.
