My wife and I eat at the Clock of Laurens at least once a week now for more than 15 years. I have read all the reviews here and can say that the people posting negative comments are either mistaken about what restaurant they ate at or they have some other reason for making negative comments, such as they own a restaurant themselves and are trying to run down their competition. I have never seen anything unclean here, nor any bugs of any kind. I have met and spoken with the owner, I often see the manager who always seems to be involved and concerned about the experience, I know at least one of the cooks and several of the waitresses have been there for years and always are concerned about how our meal is. There are menu items that I don't like, but that is my personal preference, not a problem with the food. If you read all the reviews, you will see that the majority are positive, and the few that are negative are over the top,(really? hair and roaches at the same time?) which to my mind indicates that they are not sincere. I recently had the manager, who has been there at least 5 years, give me a coupon for $5.00 off my next meal, just because "I see y'all come in a lot, let me give you this" We did not complain, he just decided to do it because he recognized us. The Clock of Laurens is a consistent, reliable place for good service, good food and good prices all the time. I have eaten there over 700 times in the past 15 years and have never had a bad experience! You can safely ignore the negative...
Read moreOur party of 4 adults and a 5 yo child were greeted and seated promptly and offered drinks to start. It was a bit busy as it was dinner time, but our server Marissa was friendly and attentive and gave us a good amount of time to peruse the menu.
We ordered an omelette breakfast, a cheeseburger club, chicken fried chicken, a kids spaghetti plate and grilled chicken with Mac and a sweet potato. (3/5 diners got mac and cheese!)
The dishes were prepared and delivered quickly and the orders were perfect . Everyone was happy with their meal and nearly every bite was devoured (the kids meal was a large portion so she was able to take some home)
We all also ordered dessert 2 key lime pie, a chocolate cake and a carrot cake (very tough decision as there were at least 9 different desserts with pies, cake and cheesecake available). I'm not sure if the desserts are made in-house, but they appeared to be and were phenomenal.
It was a wonderful experience and I'm happy to recommend and return when I am next in the area. (I live in Taylors with family visiting...
Read moreI have absolutely NO idea how this place is rated over 4 stars. This was the worst meal I’ve had in so long.
First, I just paid EIGHTEEN dollars for 2 hot dogs, fries/rings, and a pop. Almost TWENTY dollars!!!????? 🤯🤯🤯
The weiners were terrible. I’m not sure what they are made of but they were just gross. The chili was pretty decent. The fries are frozen and taste just like the frozen ones you buy and cook at home. The onion rings have no flavor at all - they didn’t even taste like onion. How can an onion ring not even taste like an onion?
This will go down as one of the worst and most expensive lunches I’ve had in a long time while traveling through the south. Maybe someone can drop me a couple recommendations to help redeem South Carolina from this horrible experience. 😭
The girl working the drive-thru was new but she was super sweet and the ONLY positive part of this...
