Only been here twice. First as a customer.. that experience was awful. This was a few years back though, but they had little too nothing in stock, and what they did have, didn't have a variety of sizes. I believe it has gotten better just by observation on my second trip. My s second trip was a door dash. Unfortunately the app did not tell me where to leave the order it just said go to the cosmetics counter. I walked in and the girl at the register was assisting someone and ringing up her order. All I said was excuse me I have an order for so-and-so where do I need to take it. She rather abruptly and I don't really want to say rudely but it was not in a good tone, said hold on a minute. Since I'm on a time crunch I needed to drop this off and needed to make sure it went to the right person. When she finally did reply she directed me to the ladies department where there was another woman ringing up somebody with several items of clothing and coupons and I had clearly a red doordash bag in my hand along with a beverage. The lady saw me several times and I did not want to be rude and interrupt, because I did not want another hold on a minute like I'd received before. When she had finished ringing that person up, she said I needed to go to the shoe department where I went and found a woman patiently or impatiently waiting on either someone in the back looking for shoes, or looking for someone to come over to the department to help her. As I was behind her and still having the red bag in my hand there was a young African-American lady who was walking toward the back of the store and looked right at me, had a name tag on so I knew she worked there, and never once asked me if I needed any assistance or if the lady at the counter needed any assistance. In fact one she saw me she took a few more steps and then turned around and walked away. Finally the person who had ordered the food came to the front and I was able to deliver her food. They may have good coupons and good deals, and may have nice people, but urgency and expedience are not their...
Read moreWell it’s a Belk outlet, so you’re not going to find specific things. It’s more like the TJMaxx of Belks. That’s not the problem. There is a woman who’s worked at this Belk since I was a kid. She doesn’t know me, but I was trying on clothes in the changing room, and had picked up several items. I had decided on three purchases, and was hanging the rest of my items on the return rack (the one the employees are supposed to take back and put back out on the floor). The employee walks in, KNOWING I am there with my dressing room door open, sighs loudly and says and I quote “Oh Jesusssss” and continues to sigh. Okay I get that there’s like 10 items there but this is your job. That wasn’t even all my stuff I was putting back. Needless to say I put everything on the return rack and walked out. I hate getting attitude for just being a customer and trying stuff on. I will not be back. Can a girl just get a cheap dress. Idk! Because I’ll...
Read moreWent to Belks in Laurens, SC to get my son something to wear to his graduation. There was an elderly Black lady checking out people at the make up counter. The young lady that was the greeter at door told us (my son, myself, & an older black gentleman that “If the line wasn’t to long we could be checked out in the ladies department. I looked over there were there was clearly an even longer line over there. All of a sudden the elderly lady at the make up counter says she’s not supposed to be checking nobody out over there. Funny thing is it was fine when she checked out the two white people in front of us. Then when it’s our turn to be checked out after a patiently waiting she’s not supposed to be checking people out. Lost a customer today because I have never felt so disrespected at an establishment that I spend...
