Senor Garcia Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Laurens

Stopped in on a Thursday night, kind of late, and the place was packed. Had to wait a tad to be seated. Got my drink quick, as well as some chips and salsa. It was supposed to be "spicy" salsa, but I found it bland. I ordered some guacamole that way pretty good, compared to other local fare. I like mine a little chunky, and this one was a little creamy for my taste, but it was fresh and had a nice dash of lime to it. Didn't find any Vidalia onion in it.

I wanted to get a combo with some tamales, but they were out of those. Got one with an enchilada, a burrito and a taco instead. They were tasty enough, but nothing to write home about. Of concern was that the food came out almost immediately, like less than 5 minutes. Odd, huh? The cheese on the enchilada and burrito wasn't fully melted. and the fillings, especially in the middle, were lukewarm. The plate was cold as the grave, which means it was microwaved, barely. I'm guessing the kitchen staff was trying to get out of there. Still, no excuse for this.

The wait staff was professional and attentive, without being annoying. The tea never left the bottom of my glass. When I went to pay the bill, I miscalculated, and was a touch short on the cash I handed the waiter. It was no big deal. He was very diplomatic, and quickly handled the discrepancy. Something I appreciated, so I left him a nice tip.

I'd rate this experience as 2 1/2 Stars for Meh. I'll round up because of the service. But likely I'll be going back to my other Mexican place in...

The service and hospitality was awful. As we entered there was no one to greet us and show us to where our party was. We found our party ourselves and decided to seat down and eat. We had to wait for our waiter which took forever and he didnt tell us his name we had to ask him his name. My husband order water and notice stuff floating in his drink. I ordered my meal and as I was starting to eat my food my husband noticed a strand of hair that was hanging from my fork. We told the waiter about the hair and he told us its not his hair and that it could possibly be mine. He offered me a remake of the same dish. I decided to accept the offer and my food was hot and without hair in it. Our waiter didnt come by and see if we were ok, refill our drinks, or apologize for the hair in my food and didnt care about it. He was very rude and was not courteous to the situation and did not offer to discount my meal and continued to ring up full price. I love mexican food and I was very taken back from the service. THEY EASILY GET A 5 STAR RATING FROM US !! We have been going to SENOR Garcias since they opened in Laurens. My husband and I were going to the old one in Woodruff. The owner always asked us “our opinion” about opening one in Laurens. We told him the other Mexican places WERE NOT GOOD & A SENOR GARCIAS IN LAURENS WOULD BE GREAT !!
