We were on our way to go camping and needed something for the trip because we had not eaten yet that day. I ordered fish tacos and some sort of a platter which was supposed to have fish and chicken and fries and whatever else. I didn't realize that it would look the way that it would look. The fish was delicious although maybe a little bit too crunchy. The chicken was dry and you can tell that everything had been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a long time. It didn't taste fresh. The french fries were too hard also the result of having sat around for a little bit too long. And my fish tacos came in hoagie buns which.. that's not a taco y'all.
It has been several years since we visited this restaurant but not this location. I have to be honest, we will not be going back anytime soon. We paid over $30 for our meals and it was just a bunch of deep fried breaded bread and crunchy, sat-around food that was not the quality I would expect. While it did feed us, half of it went to waste because he wants to eat that much oil soaked crunchy messiness? Not a good value, not good quality, french fries were awful. On the flip side, I did enjoy the tartar sauce and it was the saving Grace for the fish "tacos" on...
Read moreI parked next to the only car in the parking lot. There was an employee holding open the exterior door saying "drive thru," not realizing he was giving me instructions. The driver of the other car turned out to be an employee who entered the waiting open door. She turned out to the order taker, cashier, and person who prepared my food. I ordered two southwest bowls and one fish sandwich. Because the store had run out of bread, she couldn't sell the fish sandwich. Once home, my husband and I ate our bowl. It was my husband's first bowl. I believe his bowl was the one she prepared. It looked fresher than mine, and the color of the ingredients was sharper, and at the bottom of his bowl, some sause remained. So he got the fresh bowl which he enjoyed very much. I was happy about it because I had my first one the day before at a different store that I really enjoyed and was anxious for him to try it. I'm believe lead to believe the store was understaffed, and the next time, I won't be disappointed. The service...

I haven’t eaten at Long John Silver’s since before COVID. My wife and I used to order regularly from the Castleton Mall location (which sadly no longer exists), and the Pendleton Pike location we always enjoyed it. Tonight, I decided to revisit those memories and DoorDashed from the Pendleton Pike location around 7:15 PM.
I ordered the two-piece fish (pollock) meal with double waffle fries as my sides. I also added an extra piece of pollock and included some malt vinegar packets for the fish. The meal came with two hush puppies, napkins, and a plastic fork—everything I expected on the surface.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I was really looking forward to this meal, but it just didn’t live up to the Long John Silver’s I used to know. The fish had that same crispy, satisfying bite, but was very greasy. The waffle fries were lackluster, and the overall quality just felt off. It’s hard to put into words, but something’s changed.
Long John Silver’s—you used to do better. I know...
