The place always seems to have business so I figured it was pretty good and wanted to try it out. My family and I went on a Friday night recently at about 6:30. The decor was nice, looked clean (even clean highchairs!) plus they have different menu options from your basic Mexican restaurant. From the time we arrived, got a seat and got our food FINALLY it was about an hour! We asked repeatedly where our appetizer was and they finally brought it about 2 minutes before our dinner came. The chorizo dip was basically melted white Velveeta cheese and some meat chunks. The chips all seemed nearly stale which I've never experienced at a Mexican restaurant before. I got a mango margarita and it was not a blended with ice like I've ever had/seen and was very thick and sweet and for some reason gave me a stomach ache halfway through and I had to stop drinking it. I cannot eat flour tortillas and asked for corn and my husband wanted extra flour ones. We each got about 3 little flour tortillas for our fajita. I gave him mine and then asked multiple people for corn tortillas and waited and waited. By the time I got them everyone else was done eating. A sweet teenage boy working (there not in uniform) got us more salsa to go with our food and chips and probably the most capable worker I experienced. There was a woman who worked there that occasionally would bring a bag of to-go food to the front but mostly just stood and stared at people. For the remaining second half of our almost 2 HOUR dinner, possibly more, they were cleaning something and all you could smell and taste was industrial smelling cleaner. It was awful. Good it's clean but that's really not appropriate. I had to stop eating due to the smell. I have eaten so many things including from different cultures and never had a problem previously but every time I ate leftovers from here it upset my stomach and I'm not sure why. Paid too much not to bring leftovers home and I don't believe in food waste. Rice and beans were basic and fajita was decent although I got a mouthful of onion outer layer skin in them and thought it was plastic until further inspection.

What a cool place. The staff are super friendly, and the location is pretty cool. I've been twice. Once wirh a band and again on a quiet day. The band is a bit loud, but the place is a live and high energy. It works. When there isn't a band, it's relaxing. The food is delicious. So far I have had the Crazy Chimichanga, absolutely delicious. And huge. I had the birria tacos as well as the Burrito California. Food comes out quickly and cooked to perfection. Everything looks so good, I look forward to my next visit. If you like spicy like I do, bring your own sauce. Jalapeño is as hot as it gets.

Visited El Azteca for dinner while lodging at the motel across the street. Three of us had the fajitas meal and wow it was incredible -- huge, savory, sizzling hot (temperature wise) and absolutely delicious. Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had, and I’ve had a lot. Plus, we really liked the colorful ambiance and cheerful staff. They had live entertainment with a duo that was never too loud, just right, and a nice if somewhat cramped bar with a couple of TVs. Offering an overall great experience and jaw-droppingly good food, It’s no wonder El Azteca was packed.

I have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed myself. It’s silly to tell you if the food is “good” or “bad”. You’ll have to decide that according to your own taste. It tastes good to me. I believe the ingredients are good quality, and they have Coke products.

I have always had good service. People make mistakes and things get busy sometimes, but it’s not the norm. If you can’t roll with some of that, you probably shouldn’t leave your house anymore.

The food hot is not hot, but this is a small town in the south where most folks can’t handle spicy food. They have some excellent hot sauces you can add if you need more heat (which I do).

Anyway, bottom line is this is a great family restaurant for Lawrenceburg, and I...

When I first saw that this was going to be another Mexican restaurant my immediate thought was, "just what we need. Like we don't have 7 across Lawrence County already." insert eyeroll But we decided to try it anyways oh my gosh. I'm so glad we got another Mexican restaurant! Haha. It was a Sunday and it was busy but we were seated within seconds of walking in the door. Our drinks came out along with chips and the best salsa I had ever eaten shortly after we sat down. I ordered the taco salad and it was incredible. Even the guacamole, which I rarely like in taco salad, was devine. I definitely think if this place keeps it up they will be the best restaurant in town....
