Legend’s Brisketville — Restaurant in Lawrenceburg

This is a former BBQ joint bought out by the people who own/operate Legends Steakhouses. This got Legends in BBQ game. Now, that bit of background is out of the way, on to the review. Let's get the idea of ambiance removed from your mind. There is none. It's a simple, straightforward BBQ joint, plain and simple. Also, decore is from the original restaurant, and maybe circa late 80's? However, you're not going for decore and ambiance now are you? Food is a different story, particularly the beef brisket. The brisket in any presentation is the star of the show. I would recommend the brisket nachos, as they were outstand and plentiful. The Burritos, and quesadillas are well, average. Sides of rice, too were average. Pork and chicken were done competently but otherwise forgettable. Bottom line, this is no Schaffer's BBQ. Stopped by on the way back from Etheridge. Door hours didnt list it as open on Saturday but they had a line wrapped around the building. I got the brisket plate. I was disappointed the street corn side was out bit I went with slaw and bbq beans. The beans were tasty. The slaw wasn't bad but wasn't great either. I'd say it was a solid good tasting slaw. For the main event of any bbq joint there's the meat. The brisket was just right. Every slice had a perfect balance of fat and meat. It definitely wasn't dry. It wasn't a Texas joint brisket but it was some of the best I've had around these parts. The wife got the pulled pork. With the bourbon based sauce it was alright. I called to place my order then went to pick it up at the drive thru & they had my order wrong so I had to park & go inside. One of the things I ordered was banana pudding. They never mentioned that they were out of banana pudding when I called to place my order. Instead they charged me for it & just didn't put it in the bag because they didn't have any. I had also ordered chicken tenders & queso chips & cheese & they didn't give me any of that either although they charged me for it. When they finally got my order complete I took it home & my family was not pleased. My husband had ordered the fried catfish & he said that it was the worst he had ever eaten. The chicken on my salad was very hard. The whole experience was just bad. I doubt we will eat here at all again...
