Teriyaki Box — Restaurant in Lawrenceville

This place is hit or miss. I have been there 4 times and the first time great! Second time, the wait was utterly ridiculous: ordered online and got there at the time it was said it was going to be ready. Ended up waiting nearly an hour after the ready time and that time was not that great. The owner, I think, (or maybe manager), Hendra was extremely apologetic and said next time he would take care of the meal. Mind you, I ordered for a family of 4. This was in late July. So over the summer, I was in and out of town, so last week one of my kids mentions Teriyaki Box and asks for us to get dinner there. I call and spoke with Hendra about the last incident and what he told me. He didn't remember me or the incident, of course. Granted it had been a couple months. In any case, he did offer a discount but not what he originally said... No problem. It had been a while. So last week, everything was pretty good to delicious. We went back yesterday for dinner, NO BUENO. First of all, 2 wing orders were to be split flavors on both, they didn't split flavors on either! The fries tasted old and hard. My son said his chicken and beef w/fried rice was fine. Husband said he liked his fish but not the fries. My wings were overcooked and should have been half Spicy Asian and half Garlic Pepper. I got all Spicy Asian and for some reason one of the corners had standing sauce in it! Why? I didn't ask for extra saucy or swimming. My husband, daughter, and I all had Cajun fries. On a great day, they're delicious. But last night, NOT! I'm thinking last week the order was so good because it was basically an apology from the last visit. In any case, I really wanted to like this place but I can't do inconsistency. Our meals usually are always upwards of $30. I'd rather spend on consistent accuracy and quality. I did not bother calling them about last night. I just don't...

Husband waited over 25 minutes for his food to go. We had a to go order mine came first with in 10 minutes of ordering. We waited about 15 more for his plate. Turns out the young lady gave his plate to a gentleman she knew, who sat and ate his food inside. My husband notice that he had order the same thing to go 15 min earlier than the man who had walked in and ordered and who was now eating his food. Then they began to make his food a 2nd time. Another young lady apologized for the other girls mistake. But it wasn't a mistake this young lady was flirting with the young man and bought my husband's food to his table with 10 minutes of the young man ordering. She did it on purpose. Therefore we had to wait for them to remake my husband food because she gave it to her friend. Sadly this has happened before to me when I came by myself to order a to go plate for my self. I came in sat for a long time. A group of 5 people came in and their food was served after I had be waiting at least 8 minutes or so. They began to make my food after this group of 5 came to sit in and eat. So we will not be going back. The food is amazing! The aesthetic of the place is so cute and I have never seen smoothies with boba before and it is amazing! Their smoothies are fantastic, their fried food is fantastic, their teriyaki is fantastic, their fries are amazing, their fried rice is amazing, the crab rangoon is amazing, their soups are fantastic, as is their sushi! I love the atmosphere of the restaurant too! The food is really reasonably priced, I love walking here with my friends after school because I can actually pay for a decent meal for myself and my friends without spending more than 20 bucks. It isn't fast food, though, the wait time is a bit eh but I'm happy to wait for the quality--plus the place is so tranquil that it doesn't even bother me to spend an hour there. The waitstaff is really nice and courteous and the yum yum sauce is free!! My favorite thing here is the fried butterfly shrimp, absolutely...
