Hatch – Brunch With an Attitude
Our group of four rolled into Hatch during their soft opening, which basically meant we were paying volunteers in the grand experiment of “Can Lawton Handle Brunch?” Spoiler: yes, yes it can. The staff was technically in training, but you’d never know it—unless you count the fact that they were too nice. Smiles, refills before we even asked, actual enthusiasm. Honestly, it was unnerving.
The Vibe:
Picture this: bright yellow tables, fresh paint smell, and a vibe that whispers “we’re not in Lawton anymore.” For a second, we wondered if someone had slipped us onto I-44 and dropped us in Dallas. It’s modern, polished, and—dare I say—Instagram-ready. The staff kept up the energy, buzzing around with the kind of cheerfulness you usually only see in people who don’t work weekends.
What’s Brunch without a Mimosa?
Yes, there’s a full bar, which is already half the battle won. But let’s cut to the chase: the Mimosa Flight. Forget committing to one flavor when you can line them up like speed dates. Each glass was a new “maybe this one’s The One” situation. By the end, we weren’t sure if we’d found true love, but we had certainly played the field.
The real reason we got up early on the weekend: The Food
This is where Hatch flexes. The menu is ambitious—downright cocky, even—for Lawton. We decided to test its range: • Eggs Benedict Sampler – Fancy enough to impress, but still hearty enough to remind you you’re in Oklahoma. The Hollandaise deserves its own fan club. • Smothered Burrito – Massive, dripping in red and green chile sauce. If you can’t get full off this thing, maybe check with a doctor. • Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy & Eggs – Crispy, golden, and drowning in cream gravy like it fell off the lifeboat. Grandma would approve. • Croissants with Syrup – Buttery, flaky, and sticky enough to ruin your shirt. Worth it.
My Take?
Hatch isn’t just “good for Lawton.” It’s flat-out good. Between the friendly staff, gutsy menu, and a bar that doesn’t phone it in, this place is already punching above its weight. For a soft opening, they came out swinging. We’ll definitely be back—if only to continue our highly scientific Mimosa...
Read moreAfter hearing about a new restaurant opening here in Lawton of course I had to check it out. Please enjoy the pictures and videos I was able to capture during my first dine in experience with my teen son and Husband as my brunch dates. After finding out IHOP discontinued their banana foster again jus' yesterday (mid September '25), mind you... definitely missing pecans or walnutz that addz that lil' extra crunch that is very much needed. I was pleasantly surprised and excited that this restraunt offers not only banana foster but already includes candied walnuts in it's dish for that added crunch texture. My husband and son ordered blondie espressos to start their experience while I opted for my usual lemon lime water. For their meals Hubby ordered everything but the kitchen sink... (no really that was the name of his meal) and Zander ordered the Burrito St. Nick w/ a single pancake side called The King sans Banana pancake. Everything was delicious. Our waitress Sara was so sweet, welcoming, informative, and accomodating from the moment we stepped in the doors. Definitely will be back to try more food options that peaked my interest. Now... especially, when I'm in the mood for some good banana...
Read moreIt was my first time eating here, and while our server, Dana, was enthusiastic and cheery, I felt that I didn't have a chance to really relax and enjoy my experience. I ordered the Poutine &Two lookin' at ya. I've eaten poutine before and was looking forward to it, however, the cheese curds were melted cheese and not cheese curds, which are the usually a good part of the poutine experience. The eggs were fine, and the fries were good, however the brown gravy, which I usually love, was thick and particularly salty. I feel it needed to be thinned out a bit, to help with that. The atmosphere was a bit loud, but it was opening weekend and busy. I also felt a bit bombarded about giving a review. Although the Caramel Latte that I received from giving the review was my favorite part of the meal, it was really the best part. At one point we didn't have any water and our server was busy with another table, another server Dasharia, was super helpful and brought more water and cleared our table which had collected platters from the appetizer. On my next visit I will ask to be seated in her section if she is available because she made the experience better...
