UPDATE: My original review was negative because of the crust that was overbaked and poor tasting. The manager reached out to me. I tried another pizza and the second pizza was MUCH better. The crust was appropriately baked and flavorful. The ingredients were plentiful and the cheese appropriately melted. It was a good pizza. I appreciate the manager reaching out. That is good customer service. I will likely return and hope that future pizzas will be like my second one. I updated my review to reflect the improved food on my second visit. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I ordered a large custom pizza with original crust, BBQ sauce, chicken, bacon, onions, cheddar cheese blend. The cost was around $30 but with the 25% off coupon was around $23. It was expensive even with the coupon. The cheese was good. The onions and bacon bits were adequate. The chicken was sparse - just a piece here and there. The BBQ sauce was a little too sweet. However, the crust was a major disappointment. It appeared way over baked. It was crumbly, crunchy, burnt tasting, bland - probably the worst pizza crust I can remember. Since this was my first and only pizza from Westside, I don't know if this was typical or if I just got a bad pizza, but it was not a good first impression - certainly not worth the premium price.

With a family of 6 and a small budget, we usually have to go pretty cheap when it comes to pizza. Luckily for us, Westside Pizza did a promotion over the weekend and took 50% off the price of their pizzas. This promo allowed us to try 3 different pizzas: the Westside, Chicken Bacon Ranch, and Buckin’ Buffalo. All 6 of us were over the moon with the pizzas. They were delicious and I love how they season the crust! No crumb went uneaten. The kids all flocked towards the Chicken Bacon Ranch (which was yummy) while my husband and I started with the Buckin’ Buffalo. It was amazing flavor with the perfect amount of heat. I could feel a kick, but not so much that I couldn’t enjoy the pizza. My daughter tried a slice without the jalapeños and really enjoyed it. I think this might have been my favorite. It’s a toss up between this and the Westside. I know it looks like an ordinary combo, but the seasoned crust really takes it up a few notches in flavor! If they ever do this promo again, we will 100% get these pizzas. It’s difficult to please the entire family, so Westside Pizza did the near impossible.

Westside Pizza is a newer pizza place in the area that we decided to give a try. The pizza and bread sticks look good but the flavor and toppings are lacking. Was supposed to get cheese bread for free but got the normal bread sticks and would not recommend them as they are very bland. The marinara sauce is not very flavorful and does not compare with the competition for the price. I got the two medium favorites deal and upgraded one to the death by pizza option which was just OK and the meat pizza for the other that also was not as expected. The pizza is better than the bread sticks but still OK at best. Will not be going back as there are better places for the price in the area. Overall my family and I put this place as two stars.

Our first time trying this was Saturday 7/20 and walked up to the counter and greeted by friendly staff. They had all their sizes displayed on the wall for people like me who wouldn't know the diff in 12 inches or 12 miles (ok not that bad but...) so it's good they have something visually and named for so I can carve out in my mind what my portion would be and what is left for everyone else to fight over. Oh and this pizza is GOOOD - if it came down to the last piece and Mike Tyson said he would fight me for it I would have to take him up on it. The crust is great I never liked a half baked doughy grease soaked pizza. Even with all the toppings we got the crust was not soggy or gross like places whom I will leave nameless. Their breadsticks too were good now they were pretty specific that they don't put GARLIC BUTTER on them they were still good. I do not like the garlic soaked rags other places call breadsticks anyway and these were perfect. I was so happy I didn't have to use half a bottle of fast orange degreaser to clean my hands. The ingredients are quality. We had a lot of questions and they were very knowledgeable about pricing and the deals and how we could get the best bang for the buck. The prices were on par for good quality pizza (having been to both NYC and CHICAGO). Now when I was 20 I could go and eat garbage pizza and alot of it but as I have gotten older I can't do that anymore without visiting the porcelain throne in the middle of the night. My body loved this pizza and their slices on their medium were still hearty enough for this Old dude of German hearty stock and appetite. My grandma used to say good food should never make you feel bloated or off. This pizza was good for reheating in the oven and tasted amazing and I felt satisfied and fine. I happily pay a little more for GOOD QUALITY PIZZA instead of going cheap and feeling gross and bloated for 3 days. WESTSIDE PIZZA on the east side of Layton is our new goto place pizza and whatever...
