I went here to pick up my order I had previously ordered over the phone and upon my arrival when I first walked in I notice I got certain looks but I decided to ignore it. I then headed straight to use the restroom instead of getting my order first. Shortly after, when I was in my stall using the restroom, a woman came in and abruptly asked, "Are you here to place an order or?" And I quickly responded "yes", then she said, "for Emily?" (She wanted to specifically ask as if I was bluffing) and then I said "yes". Right after she had a complete change of tone and quickly tried to play it off and said "oh okay I just wanted to be sure, etc." Really just trying to say things to make how passive agressive she came in the restroom appear normal...once I finished in the restroom, I went up to the counter. She acted normal...as if it didn't happen. So I asked, "was that you that just came in the restroom and talked to me?" And she said it was her. So, then I said, "that didn't have anything to do with my race did it?" And her eyes kind of got bigger as if it was the truth and then she responded and said "Nooo not at all! We get crazy people coming in here all the time" then continued to tell me a story about a LITTLE GIRL...(I'm 24 years old) and how the little girl wandered in the restaurant because her mom was door dashing. And honestly her explanation for her prejudice behavior just revealed what I already felt even more...because the story didn't relate to me at all. I felt throughly discriminated against. Extremely...
Read moreAs soon as I stepped foot inside the first time, I knew this would become one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The atmosphere and food were both exceptional beyond belief, the food especially was scrumptious enough for me to stop talking in between bites and just marvel at it. If you knew me, you would know this is no easy feat. That being said, what I want to spotlight is the service. I was brought here at first by a friend who to my knowledge had been only once or twice before. Not only did the owner recognize my friend, but she recognized me upon my second visit. Now, I have a number of very deadly food allergies, so I always have to be careful when going out to eat. When I relayed this information to the server, she not only took careful note of it, but a man who I believe to also be an owner and who—to my knowledge—is in charge of the kitchen, came out to personally speak to me and thank me for communicating my allergies. Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had in a world where food allergies are often diminished or completely disregarded. Ava’s Bistro is now a staple when taking friends out to eat and received rave reviews from those I have brought or gone with. This place is truly above and beyond, anyone considering it would be lucky...
Read moreI’m a pho connoisseur and this was not pho. Was very greasy and salty. Tasted more like beef broth nothing more. I travel the world and have had authentic pho and have found many places around that uses the aromatics that go into pho. This is perfect for those who don’t like traditional pho. I wish I knew there was bean sprouts in it as well. Yes this was my 1st and my last time I will be eating here. I told the lady the bean sprouts upset my stomach and all she replied with was “our pho comes with all the vegetables in it”, then walked away. I proceeded to pick them out. I only ate about half but couldn’t stomach it. I was really hoping for a pho place close to me but this one I’ll pass on. Now if you like beef stew you will love their pho flavor. Just not for me. Also my tea was almost clear, and tables were dirty and this was at opening and no...
