Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in League City

Upon entering the facility, I noticed an older lady seated and engrossed in her phone, which seemed normal at first. The place was empty, and I received a standard greeting. I ordered a 2-scoop waffle cup with one topping, but I also requested extra raspberries. As I went to open the door for my wife and child because she couldn't manage it with him in her arms, I turned back to find that the cup was already prepared.

To my dismay, the ice cream had completely melted, and there were hardly any toppings left. When I asked why the cup looked so unappealing, the lady didn't even bother replying and quickly returned to her cellphone to resume watching her favorite show.

Meanwhile, a younger lady attended to my wife. After we finished trying to enjoy the watery ice cream, she rushed us to pay, as if I would run away without paying my bill while holding two infants. It left me shaking my head in disbelief.

The customer service here is absolutely horrendous. The staff was extremely unfriendly throughout the ordering and checkout process. We have visited this location before but have not visited recently, maybe there was a change in ownership? There are now handmade signs around this location stating no Apple Pay/amex. Additionally there was a large handwritten sign stating that there icecream is sold by weight with the toppings and not by the “size” (I did actually notice my icecream did not even fill up the kids size cup like I remember previously). To top it all off, there was a roach crawling across the counter of the toppings area while an employee was mixing icecream on the slab a foot away. The older male employee clearly saw the roach and leaned up on the counter (in an attempt to hide/squish it?) he then quickly rushed our checkout after he realized I had noticed. Not sure if management has changed or they are having a hard time but we’ve visited this location annually for the past six years with family. The air con wasn’t working and they’ve installed ceiling fans all over (cost cutting?)

The ice cream was melted before they made it, the staff are sweet but aren’t closing the lids so it’s melting. The mint chocolate was mixed with maraschino cherries in the ice cream mix. Only one bathroom was working and they were out of paper towels. A food delivery guy gave up when the order wasn’t ready and they clearly weren’t making it anytime soon (he wait 10 min).
