I can confidently say this was the worst Vietnamese dining experience I have ever had—and I’ve eaten at over 20 different Vietnamese restaurants across Texas. I was in town for training and, as someone who enjoys pho weekly for the last four years, I needed my usual fix. I chose this place based on Google reviews, but I quickly realized that was a mistake.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a female employee who instructed me to grab a menu and then walked me to the completely empty dining area. I was the only customer the entire time—a red flag in itself. I ordered a pork spring roll and vermicelli with egg roll and pork. Initially, I tried to order the child’s portion since I wasn’t very hungry, but I was told that was strictly for kids. Fair enough, though I found that reasoning odd. I also ordered a Dr Pepper.
The disappointment began with the spring rolls, which contained nothing but shredded iceberg lettuce and a couple of tiny slivers of unseasoned pork. I’m accustomed to a more balanced filling—carrots, romaine, bean sprouts—but this was bland and unappetizing. Worse, my drink never arrived until I asked the male employee who delivered my food to bring it.
Then came the main course, which was another letdown. A base layer of shredded iceberg lettuce, cold noodles, and, to top it off, chicken instead of the pork I ordered. At least the chicken had some flavor, unlike everything else. The egg roll was just okay—plump and well-filled but nothing exceptional. The fish sauce served with it was passable at best.
The only true highlight? The Dr Pepper. Ice-cold, served in a plastic bottle—something they didn’t prepare, which explains why it was the best part of my meal.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The food was subpar, the service was inattentive, and overall, this was a...
Read moreWas fooled by good reviews. Took my Mother here, neither of us had ever eaten here. The woman taking our order seemed like not very pleasant. I had to ask for extra lettuce for my Vietnamese egg roll, and it was iceberg lettuce, kind of yuck & super cheesy. Then ordered combo fried rice extra spicy, which is supposed to have pork, chicken, shrimp , and hopefully some spice. It came out like a very plain small mound of bland rice with barely anything in it, topped with 5 somewhat rubbery shrimp. Wonder if the wait staff is used to the disappointment expression when they bring customer's orders. My Mom struggled using the plastic chopsticks they provide in a communal utensil holder, unwrapped, which was another cheesy detail. My 7 dollar coffee was nothing special, and if you order a diet coke, you get a plastic bottle with no glass of ice or offer of a glass of ice. Very stingy with basil and bean sprouts for high price of entree. Two lackluster appetizers, two entree, and two drinks: $53. Now I understand why this place is empty. Too many fundamental major issues: not friendly, not appetizing, not fresh, and definitely not worth...
Read moreNo kids menu. Closest thing a young kid might eat, would be a chicken and steamed rice meal for $13. Absolutely no way am I spending that much for a toddler who will take a few bites and be done. I asked if we could just get a piece of chicken. They said $5.99 which was about half of a chicken breast. The chicken tasted good. They brought out water. Menu shows water is $1 each. Which is strange, since I don’t know anywhere else that charges for water. They were out of spring rolls, which that and egg rolls are the only appetizers. Egg rolls came out with a fish sauce. Not much flavor to them, but yhey did have a good amount of meat. Those came out only a couple of minutes before the pho came out.
Pho has a good flavor, good amount of meat and lots of noodles. The meatballs were delicious. The chopsticks are terrible. This is the first time I’ve ever had to use a fork where chopsticks are available. I have to say the biggest disappointment is having plastic in my pho.
They did remove that bowl, even though I said it wasn’t necessary. I felt that was good customer...
