Well, well, well where do I begin? I have to say if there was more stars to give I most certainly would upon arriving. I wanted to inquire about some services that they offer, including applying for a library card when I tell you every single person that I encountered working, there were so compassionate and caring and loving, and the energy is just so large and generous. It could make One cry because you realize that this actually does exist and even our nation. They were so accommodating and so helpful. I brought my teenage daughter with me who immediately made a friend and ended up going up to the teenage area. I even signed up for one of their classes that is yet to come during next month in July, all I can say is if you are an avid reader or you like magazines or activities or just wanna be around other People of like mind that will respect and care for you. This is most definitely the library to go to I am a new member and new resident of league city which is also Galveston county and I must say I am very happy and I feel so welcomed here despite a couple hiccups from certain locations of different businesses for the most part and I mean 99% of the time, I feel so welcomed and so loved and I just cannot recommend this place enough. There is so much space to spread out and look around. They have such a wide variety of selections and options for you to take even applications that allow you to have a digital magazine for free and watch movies for free as well. It was such an easy process to get my library card and I am such a big fan. I cannot wait to continue to visit this location. OMG and don’t even get me started on the beautiful artwork throughout the facility as well as the immaculate and beautiful well-kept restroom as well. There’s so much wonderful things to say and not enough space to leave here so just visit and you won’t be...
Read moreVery discourteous staff upstairs along with Head Librarian. I was immediately targeted when I sat down to work on a project. I then sat in a room delegated to a specific group. I learned thru rudeness later It was restricted, designated to a special group, but visually unoccupied at present. I requested WiFi assistance from C. due to lack of written instructions at the service desk. When the staffer came to assist me she immediately, using hand gestures and rude tonnage informed me that I was not allowed to sit in this area. Well, there aren’t any signs restricting people (from occupying the specific group area) & informing the public they can’t sit in some areas ( it’s a “Public Library”). Additionally. The libraries today alliow loud conversations, screaming children, loud laughing children and/or adults! When I went to report the poor treatment to J. Head Librarian she did not rise to greet me. I extended my hand and offered an introduction then proceeded to give voice to my complaint. She too immediately started to inform me that the area I chose to sit (a room that was unoccupied) was off limits. I apprised her to the fact that I surveyed the room in this public library and there aren’t any signs restricting people from the room which was unoccupied. There weren’t any signs restricting people from sitting anywhere. Is there going to be a shift backwards in history (i.e. w...only or c... only?). I requested assistance, non received but got lots of rude inappropriate assistance. She was writing notes which is equally rude, no apologies just incompetence, rudeness seemingly, biased, prejudicial behavior! Sad for public servants to promote, advocate, and endorse bias prejudicial behaviors and designs. Sad, but surprising, no, we don’t have to look far to...
Read moreThis blonde hair ponytail w glasses woman had attitude w me after i asked her to waive my$1 late fee, i asked them to be understanding to the fact that i live nearly 15 miles away&i was unable to make it. She had zero sympathy and sounded monotone in telling me that just because i couldn't make it in that they would not remove a late fee. She said "it's just a $1 it could be on your account forever and it would not affect you renting ability" for someone to encourage me not to pay late fees than why have them? People can just choose not to pay you, using that same logic why pay them at all? She needs an attitude and service re-adjustment or read a book on how to be kind to people. I honestly would like to give minus stars, having someone on that team makes them look very bad as well as unfriendly. I will not be coming back!! I'll go to another library not populated by unkind or understanding people who scoff at me. It's a disgrace to have a work force of inconsiderate people. Hire better people who do not have a permanent scowl...
