Overpriced, weird and unfullfilling. I am not one to leave bad reviews ever. I and am only leaving this in hopes they see the light and change for there sake as I see a business in need of change before it is too late. Our first time to a restaurant where we are sad to say we will never be back. We walked in and they had an all you can eat hotdog bar with some Willy Wonka theme going on. Plastic tables with coverings on them with a basket of old hotdogs and random candy on the tables. We honestly thought "Oh they must be having a birthday party maybe we should leave". They promptly sat us. Layout seems a little odd and closed off but seems like a nice place. Opened up the menu and ordered the steak for $18 and asked to exchange the sides to French fries and mac and was told no problem. Baby got tenders and fries and my wife got the chicken salad. Food came out. Chicken salad had sliced cucumbers around the edges and was mostly greens. I don't eat salads much but even I could tell it looked pretty awful. My plate looked like a lunch portion and not like what you would picture a hardy steak meal being. Fries were good but was an extremely small amount of fries as I would guess maybe 7 small waffle fries. My wife usually will share with me anywhere we go and the portion size was so weak I ate them in about 30 seconds. The Mac and cheese was fine, the steak was subpar. I actually felt kind of gross after eating it. My wife said her cucumbers were mushy and she was very dissapointed. I ended up eating my sons leftover tenders and still was very hungry which is odd for me. Then we get the bill. They charged us .75 for honey mustard for my sons meal, $1.50 for my son's drink which was supposed to be included, $19 for my meal instead of the menus stated $18, $2 for my Mac which was supposed to be included, and my drink was $3 which I hadnt checked but seems a little higher than average for a soda. Needless to say we were shocked that they were going to nickel and dime on every item like that. It was almost bewildering and you kind of just think what in the world is going on? My wife promptly asked the waitress about it. She got a $2 discount for my Mac. Then we spoke to the manager and he said "Oh yea we haven't changed the menu over yet to the new pricing". They took off all the extra charges and we tried to be friendly and just talk and the manager was kinda annoyed and non-interested. It was such a bizzare and an odd expierence. I am just halfway baffled that this nice looking place is ran like this it just doesn't make sense. It just does not fit the area and the look of the building as you think ok this will be a higher end burger joint with some decent food. At any rate, if you have to go here keep the meal simple i mean burgers and fries, and probably for lunch and make sure to check your bill before paying because you may get some hidden gotchas. I don't know if that was on purpose or the mistake of the server but after reading some other reviews I think they are billing for everything they can and lowering their portion sizes to increase their profits. It just tells me all I need to know about where they are at in their business model. I hate to say but kitchen nightmares, bar rescue or any of the main ones out at the moment may need to pay this place a visit or the owner may need to come do regular...
Read moreI must express my profound disappointment and frustration with the abysmal service I experienced at "Talk of the Town" recently. As a paying customer, I expected a basic level of competence, which unfortunately was sorely lacking during my visit.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was hopeful for a pleasant dining experience. However, my optimism quickly turned to exasperation as I endured an excruciatingly long wait for my order to be fulfilled. I had ordered wings, a seemingly straightforward dish that one would assume could be prepared in a reasonable amount of time.
To my disbelief, the promised waiting time was egregiously surpassed, extending well over an hour. This kind of delay is utterly unacceptable, and it significantly marred what should have been a straightforward transaction.
Adding insult to injury, despite patiently enduring the lengthy wait, my order was never completed. I had paid for my wings but left the establishment empty-handed, a situation that is not only infuriating but also reflects a severe lack of professionalism on the part of the restaurant.
The blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and the inability to fulfill a simple order within the promised timeframe are indicative of serious issues within "Talk of the Town." As someone who values punctuality and expects a basic level of service, this experience has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth—figuratively, as I never received the wings I paid for.
I strongly caution others to think twice before considering "Talk of the Town" for their dining needs. It is disheartening to witness such a blatant disregard for customer service and a failure to meet even the most basic expectations of a...
Read moreWorking at a hospital, the staff I was working with and I decided to place an order here online. It said it would be ready a little before noon. I had to clock out and go pick it up. Showed up around 1150. One family was in there eating. The rest of the restaurant was empty. Staff was hanging out by the bar chatting. I told them I was there to pick up an online order, the girl behind the bar looked at the computer and said oh we didn’t see this. Everyone scattered, she told me they would get it in. Didn’t say sorry or can I get you something while you wait, a glass of water nothing. From that point on I didn’t see a single staff member while I sat and waited. My coworkers called up there several times, no one answered. Finally after 30 minutes she brings out the food, doesn’t offer anything. Says there is nothing they can do. My coworkers finally got through to someone and was told to come back in where they gave us 2 pieces of carrot cake for the 6 people who ordered to share apparently? When arriving back at the hospital after being clocked out for over an hour. One order was made wrong, none of the ranch or dressings were provided. And someone’s order was missing. We called up there and FINALLY was able to speak to a manager. We were told they could only refund the missing item and that the owner would have to call us back at a later time..... I’m in shock with the lack of service we have received. After frequently visiting this place I don’t think I will recommend it or be back. Hopefully they get some much needed customer service training. I would have understood a little more if the restaurant was busy, but one...
