If I could give this place 0 stars I would!!! First we came to this restaurant on recommendation of family that we were meeting up with and even though we had a reservation we still had to wait another 15 mins as they didn’t have a seat for us. Once we were finally seated we had a party of 5 and they set us in a booth which wasn’t the worse but the way the restaurant was set up we had to scoot passed the table beside us to even get in to our seats. I was able to reach my arm out and I could touch the other patrons table. We waited to have a server come so we could address that but after roughly another 20 minutes go by we never get as much as a greeting from our server, not even a “I will be with y'all in second” The lack of service to our family lead us to get up and leave the restaurant but the story doesn’t end there. When we began leaving we realized we were literally the only African Americans in the entire restaurant including employees so at this point we feel like was this intentional or was it just coincidence. As we leave we realize management needed to be notified about this situation so we politely exited the restaurant and proceeded to our vehicles and gave the restaurant a call immediately. We let the young lady whomever answered the phone know that we needed to speak with the general manager and she informed us that he was not available but she could get a supervisor so she placed us on hold. After about 10 more minutes a supervisor came to the phone we explained to her the entire situation and including the difference we felt culturally in the restaurant and not once did she even address that issue just told us to come back but after all the lack of decency and respect we definitely had no desire to return but because she couldn’t seem to answer our concerns she pushed our matter off to the General Manager which would be in the next day. She assured us he would call the following day now mind you this all occurred on June 23rd today is July 16th and we have yet to receive that call from said General Manager. We even called back about 2 weeks ago the same supervisor remembered who we were and seemed to be shocked the general manager hadn’t called yet seeing how she knew he got the message. At no point were we wanting something for nothing but after all we experienced how could we dare spend a dime here but also we wanted to fair warn anyone before patronizing this place. I strongly urge you to consider our experience with the lack of service, respect and clearly an apparent display of modern day discrimination and RACISM. You do not want to spend your...

I am very disappointed about the service I received from Brass Onion. It's sad how an employee can define the overall experience and set its service tone. I called on Friday to make a reservation for a party of 13. The young lady was very nice, but because of the size of my party, she couldn't make the reservation without getting the Manager involved. She placed me on a brief hold and then let me know that she spoke with the Manager and that I would be given a call back the next day because of the dinner rush. I waited and waited, and they did not return the call. On Monday, I tried calling the restaurant to attempt to make the reservation again. The gentleman that answered the phone was beyond rude! I explained what happened, and he said, "WELL, WE DONT BOOK PARTIES THAT LARGE." I was taken aback by his tone and aggressiveness. I explained that I had provided that information Friday and nobody said anything about not taking my reservation because of the size. So he rudely told me again that "WE DONT TAKE RESERVATIONS THIS SIZE." He was very frustrated, as if my call to give them business completely ruined his day. The rude behavior, bad attitude, and dismissive tone blew me away. I asked to speak to the Manager, and he told me that he was the Manager. I explained how disappointed I was with the way he handled my call and felt that he could have been nicer and maybe apologized for the whole mix-up. And he said, "WELL, I"M SORRY FEEL THAT WAY," in a very snarky tone.

I'm writing this review hoping that someone in a management position understands who they have dealing with customers. I rarely write a bad review, but I was genuinely floored by how this gentleman spoke to me. I know that service levels are generally down, but this was unacceptable. And unfortunately, a nice established is going to pay the price for...

The Brass Onion is more than just a fantastic dining and drinking spot; it's a place where excellence in service truly shines. I had the pleasure of experiencing unparalleled hospitality from not only the extraordinary bartenders, Michael and Christian, but also from the exceptional manager, Tianna, and Rob.

Let's start with Michael and Christian. These bartenders are simply phenomenal. Their mixology skills are top-notch, and they create drinks that are not only delicious but also a work of art. Their attention to detail and their ability to tailor drinks to each guest's preferences are remarkable. But what makes them truly outstanding is their warm and engaging personalities. They make you feel not just like a customer, but a welcomed guest, adding a personal touch to the experience.

Tianna and Rob, the manager duo, are the backbone of this incredible establishment. Their leadership is evident in every aspect of the Brass Onion. Their dedication to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for each and every patron is commendable. They oversee a well-oiled machine of a team, and their focus on customer satisfaction is palpable.

The Brass Onion itself is a delightful place—great ambiance, delicious food, and a drink menu that is simply impressive. However, it's the team, led by Tianna and Rob, and complemented by the bartending expertise of Michael and Christian, that elevates this establishment to an entirely different level.

If you're seeking a memorable dining and drinking experience, the Brass Onion is the place to be. With Michael and Christian's bartending prowess and the managerial excellence of Tianna and Rob, you're guaranteed an exceptional time. Kudos to the entire team for creating such a welcoming and top-quality...

Sooooo this experience was very different from our normal visit. The food was subpar. The fried chicken wasn’t as normal but okay. The special was blackened Mahi Mahi but it had absolutely no flavor. None! The fried shrimp tasted like it came straight from Sysco. Frozen and yucky! We asked for the manager. When he came over he was so dismissive concerning our comment about the food. We felt utterly ignored and will not be back. This is unfortunate because we are frequent visitor. The manager really was sooooo not interested in our comment/complaint but was sure to acknowledge the positive comment about his tennis bracelet and started going on about how he normally where’s Gucci, Prada, and Louis Vutton! “But today he has on a coach belt and that this is nothing compared to his normal!” He never really apologized or tried to give any type of concern or satisfaction. This was the worst experience at The Brass Onion ever!!!! We normally bring family here and I always bring my cooperate execs here! The manager really needs coaching on how to deal with unsatisfied customers. I paid the bill but they will never have to worry about that again because we won’t be back. This is coming from all four ppl in my party tonight. It was so insulting to be treated so poorly. I don’t have to be subjected to this behavior and pay my money for a meal. I’m Appalled! Bill paid! Tip added from table! I didn’t not realize that Overland Park was still accepting this type of behavior from their Service industry! Get with the time OP!

My wife and I decided to try something new tonight, so we checked out The Brass Onion. We were worried that we would be severely underdressed, as we were planning on going somewhere extremely low key, but the entire staff made us feel welcome. Upon being sat immediately, we were welcomed by our incredible server, Kat. Throughout the entire evening she was attentive, and very friendly, yet professional. The drinks were astouting. I had their Manhattan and my wife had their pear martini and then their peach martini. We were already impressed and very comfortable, but then our food arrived. My hanger steak, potatoes, beans, and side of mushrooms were so amazing, my wife barely touched her burger. We just decided to share my entree because it was so fantastic. The mushrooms exploded in our mouths with strong garlic and rosemary, the potatoes must have been cooked in bacon fat, as they were borderline addictive. The steak was cooked perfectly and I cannot imagine enjoying that entree without the mushrooms. They were a perfect combination. My wife did take a couple bites of her burger, because she was embarrassed that it was still sitting there on her plate untouched, and she said it was also fantastic. We have decided that this is easily one of our favorite restaurants in Leawood and we will be going back frequently.
