Probably the worst Starbucks experience I have ever had. Heading in I don't think I was greeted, but I was following another couple in and headed straight to the restroom. Coming out, there was no one at the counter, but you could hear people talking behind the wall. I waited around for a few minutes, peeked around as well as I could and finally said "HELLO". Apparently no one heard me except the staff member on his break who jumped up from his spot around the corner from the counter. He went to the back and 3 people come slowly out. The first person didn't look at me as she passed and when she finally did it was to tell me someone would be right with me...
Finally another staff member comes out and asks what I want. No "sorry for your wait", or "how can I help you". Both act like I'm bothering them for being in the store. They continue to mutter to each other under their breath. A third person comes out of the back and leaves. Same behavior. I order, mostly to see how this will play out. I pay and wait. The barista makes my drink and calls my name hands out to me and does say thank you. But still doesn't acknowledge that I was standing around in their store.
I am extremely patient with wait-staff. I understand how hard customer service is and how good help is difficult to find these days. But this was just rude and there were at least 5 employees in the store. Not to mention that I could have left with the tip jar and any amount of merch I could carry and no one would have known. Very...
Read moreGetting a couple of coffees at Starbucks should be a very easy endeavor. It was not this Sunday morning at 11:45am. There were 4 cars in the drive-thru, so I went inside. There were two other customers inside, one of which was only buying a travel mug. Stood in line for four minutes without being acknowledged, then another 3 minutes until someone wandered out of the back to ask if I had been helped. I attempted to order two grande Christmas blend coffees (they had the placard for this coffee on one of their coffee taps, next to Pikes Place and Veranda). I was told all they had was Pikes Place. I inquired as to why the sign for the other blends were still up and was informed they take them down at 11am. After pointing out that it was indeed 11:55am, I ordered two Pikes Place. I waited an additional three minutes for my coffee, noting the stacks of packaged pastries and sandwiches, and several beverages waiting for mobile customers to pick up. (Since Starbucks began taking mobile pick-up orders, they are usually spread quite thin.) However, this experience was just unnecessary. But I will digress and...
Read moreMan - this place could really be something. It's a great location with fabulous patio dining. However, despite not having more than 2 cars in the drive-through and a handful of people sitting in the cafe, we had to wait several minutes to even have someone approach us to take our order. One barista was mopping the floor right in front of the door making a very dangerous situation for those entering and exiting. When she finally took our order and was given cash, she needed help either accessing the change drawer or making change for a $20 bill. Our coffee tasted as good as a Starbucks ever tastes (we know it's the "McDonald's of coffee) but our cups were not even full. The outside patio could be quite lovely, but the furniture needed a good cleaning. I'll give that a pass since even though it was a beautiful day, we did experience blizzard-like conditions the previous afternoon. There is a LOT of potential in this location, it just needs a more animated staff and some appropriate clean up (and timing....DO NOT mop the floor at 4pm - and this was not a...
