Logan's Roadhouse — Restaurant in Lebanon

My post below I gave 1 star based on my horrific experience back in June - my birthday dinner.

3 1/2 months later, I'm giving 5 stars! Everything was exceptional, and our server Issack made sure to live up to being an exceptional server. From the time we sat, to the end. His sections was busy, but never put us on the side burner. Great job kiddo!

We ate light last night due to being slightly full from eating movie theater popcorn & snacks and it was late night - ordered their specialty salads. Let's just say, Zaxby's does a better job. Flavor was bland, veggies (the very little their was) were bland, "grilled" chicken was small and rubbery. Bacon? what bacon, they were bits! Now about server - I asked the difference of the 2 different ranch dressings. She didn't know, which is fine. The issue is, she didn't want to learn the difference until I told her to ask. I thought she'd freely say, let me go find out - nope, instead she just stood their looking at us and ignored the question. We got 3 dinner rolls as soon as we sat down, but never brought us more or even asked if wanted more 30 minutes later when salad arrived. She walked around / by (in top speed) us multiple times, never checked in. A good server knows to come back to a table within a few minutes when food served because that's when questions arise (accirding to my 20 year retired food server experience). Only time she stopped by was at the end, and I was done picking at my salad, and wanted a box. No, her station was not busy, she just wasn't attentive. She was tipped, but not tipped based on T.IP.S. Atmosphere - never have a broom & dust pan leaning against an area patrons are eating. It's been years since I've been to this location, I heard it went downhill, than I heard a few good reviews lately. It was truly a disappointing birthday...

Stopped in last night while traveling through the area and was hoping for a great meal unfortunately, that did not happen.. Ive eaten at maybe 30+ different logan locations and I've never had such a disappointing experience. The bartender/waitress Ann was a pleasant experience and she did her job great, always attentive and on point. That was the only upside to this location. The potato soup was not even cut into pieces and I've never experienced that anywhere but not a deal breaker, the ribs were the only good thing unfortunately. The steak was completely disgusting. I got the 12oz ribeye and it was not 12oz... It seems as if they take a regular steak and beat it flat and cut it into and then soak it in water to try to make it swell back up.. The water logged meat was enough to make you vomit.. I had one employee verify this is what they were doing at this location btw.. The baked potato was not cooked either to the point to where you couldn't eat it. They removed the steak and baked potato from the receipt but left the ribs to be paid for because I did eat those which was fine. What wasn't fine is repeatedly asking to speak to the manager about the steaks being flattened and soaked in water to try to make it look like a regular steak, the manager would not come to look at the steak or discuss the situation only told the waitress that it could be removed from the receipt and wouldn't come to speak about the situation.. After reading other reviews and seeing the pictures of their steaks and the water logged texture of theirs as well I am 100% convinced this is what is happening at this location along with another employee saying this is happening.. yall do better! I traveled from Nashville to Cumberland County_ this was my son's choice to meet me for lunch as I had stopped for the night in Lebanon, TN. Logan's steak house has been a favorite spot for the entire family for a long while. Today just reiterated why we choose to dine at Logan's. Our server, Ashton went above and beyond to make sure our lunch was a pleasant experience. Our drink glasses were never empty, the hot bread melted in your mouth. The salads were so fresh and crispy_ My son had the 6 oz. steak, baked potato; the steak didn't even need a serrated knife to cut it! It was tender, well prepared, and delicious. Our most esteemed compliments to the chef! The chef brought the hot food out himself; thank you young man_ you are a gifted chef. I opted for an appetizer as my meal paired with a salad; but was feeling poorly from another issue from Hotel room and didn't have an appetite. It was (3) nice sized light and fluffy crab cakes_ looked simply wonderful. I wasn't feeling well so my son ate mine. Ashton would check back appropriately and brought more than enough sauces, napkins, and welcoming smiles to our table. My son was too full for dessert but was offered anyway which was rare yet so professional. Ashton was a breath of fresh air; she is an asset to this Logan's location. We will ask for her the next time we stop in and that will not be very long if we can help it. 🌞 Great dining experience altogether. Keep smiling Ashton; it shows that you do all you do in love.
