I always find that the food is very tasty. I do not have any complaints on the food, it’s my favorite sub in town for sure.
The all around experience is extremely hit or miss though. You will wait a long time at this location. Only 6 people ahead of you? I’ve had that take 30+ minutes. So 5 minutes a sub. It adds up real fast during lunch time and you’ll find your quick 30 minute lunch is blown just waiting to even receive your food.
Typically there’s 2 ladies there who are very friendly and efficient at what they do. But it seems they’re always stuck with a third wheel who’s unmotivated or slow based on my observation. This employee was rolling his eyes at another customer who asked about his sandwich after waiting 30 minutes.
They also do not produce orders in fifo. They produce them based on capabilities of if your sub is cold or hot. I saw a gentleman order a cold sub and his coworker ordered a hot sub. The cold sub was delivered within 5 minutes. Meanwhile, EVERYONE ELSE who ordered a hot sub waited. It should be in order of placement not if it’s hot or cold. His co worker watched him devour his entire sub, while he had his entire lunch break devoured by the 30 minute wait. Not a good...
Read moreI've heard so many good things about this place but my first experience will be my last.
First, I ordered two 12 inch sandwiches, a medium and large fry, and a cookie. My total was $44.
Second, when I ordered, the man taking my order seemed to be in a hurry and wasn't paying attention to what I was ordering and punch in my order wrong. Luckily I was able to tell the man preparing it before it was fixed wrong. They had to ask about the other sandwiche too because they never asked the specifics on how we wanted it. Like I said, he seemed rushed to get it over with.
Lastly, both order of fries looked like they scraped the bottom of the tray to fill our order. Pretty much every single fry in our large and medium order was the size of the first to second joint of you pinky finger.
Other than that the food was ok, I guess, but it was definitely not worth over $40.There are other sandwiche shops around town that have way better tasting food and are more fairly priced. As mentioned above, this was my first trip to Penn Station and it will...
Read moreLet me start off by saying my family and I were shocked in our experience today. When we showed up, the place was SLAMMED! With a line to the door, we were afraid it was going to take a long time...we were WRONG! The gentleman taking orders (Jonathan?), was quick and efficient in guiding us through the process. More impressively, the man running the grill was unbelievable. The guy was singing and dancing while cooking sandwiches as fast as people could order them. We observed people having their food brought to them before they had gotten their drinks and sat down!
The food quality was outstanding! I was recommended the cheesesteak, apparently their signature sandwich, and WOW it was the best sandwich I've EVER had!! The hand cut fries were perfect! Crispy, well salted, and HOT.
With a full restaurant of happy families, pleasant music, and a bright energetic staff, this was the best restaurant experience I've had, outside of sitdown dining.
