Tony's is delightful. Everything we have had was very good. Will definitley be eating there over and over. Jeni And we did. Ok that was my review months a go and for a very long time. Well unfortunately it is not Tony's anymore it taken over by that El Reyes place and the food, service, atmosphere has changed for the worst. My brother told me a while back that it was expensive and cold and just not good which was so the opposite for Tonys. So before I left a review I called what I thought was still Tony's, I asked the lady who answered why is my food cold and so small. The rolled tacos used to be hand rolled and fat, these now look like store bought one's. Tiny around, They used to have a bit of guac with them and cheese, Oh no not anymore No guac and it looked like some cleaned their foot grater on the plate. Anyways when a lady, the one who helped me, answered the phone said that it had been bought by that other place( which I did try ONCE when they opened) it was yuck and I thought boy am I glad we have Tony's. She told me to call the manager that she only works there and doesn't care. Seriously, her words. Told me to call the one in Salem. And I will, but in the mean time I am going to have to say, Thank goodness for Dos Arbolitas and Alex's. I haven't reviewed Alex's yet, but my first impression was positive. They were very nice and helpful and very nice place to eat inside and the food was good. That's all I have to say ...
Read moreFood is usually great. However, make sure to not go there 20 min before closing or else your food will be ice cold. Used to come in daily, sometimes multiple times a day even. I usually don't make complaints when it comes to fast food, but I was extremely bummed when I bit into my burrito and it wasn't even a tad bit warm..it was COLD. I'd understand if it was 5, maybe even ten minutes before closing, but 20min before closing? That's pretty messed up. I voiced my concern to the nice lady at the window and asked if I could get it remade, but there was a misunderstanding and she just threw on a 2nd burrito to my original order, which I just paid for and stopped going there after that. She also mentioned that "it was probably because you were close to closing time and the grills were shut off, but this one will be hot for sure, I promise", so I guess it's a common practice to serve cold food if you're remotely close to closing time, or theyre business is running slow and have extra meat already cooked, so they shut off their grills so they can get out of their at exactly closing time, which is extremely upsetting. Especially when you're hungry after working a 12 hour shift. Would be a 5 star rating, but after that experience...it deserves...
Read moreEdit back to 5 stars with new owners, no more tamales but the street tacos are awesome!!
Tamales started out great on first visit. 1 out of 5 times tamales are over heated in microwave and inedible. I brought this to their attention twice and they wont replace things that they screw up so rating went down. The sauce is wonderful but is wasted if the food is over heated in microwave. And prices went up. The already over priced single tamale went from $4 to $5.50 each-ala carte. This is the 2nd time I got one of my tamales looking like it was someone's left overs. I expect my food to look like it wasnt tempered with. Last time there was no sauce at all on the tamales and the time before last was covered with bunch of cheese and pushed together to try and appear as a while tamale but under cheese looked like a bite was taken out of the side of it, this time just completely...
