Leesburg has a few standard American diner options for breakfast and we ended up at Bloom’s as it promised in-house baked goods. We weren’t disappointed! It’s a cute place and everything we had was great!

The coffee was super good. Coffee at places like this is either hit or miss and Bloom’s did it right. Strong and full of flavor.

The baked goods on display (all made in house) are undoubtedly the source of many dessert based fantasies. One of us ordered the cinnamon bun and it was so impressively large that we almost had to have our table enlarged to accommodate it. (okay, not really…but it was big!)

I had a “Build Your Own” omelet. (misleading as THEY actually build it…but you get to decide what goes in it. I had onions and cheddar cheese, made with egg whites. It was prepared perfectly (not always a given with egg whites. It came with house made jam (delicious), a couple of truly legitimate southern biscuits as my bread option (delicious with the jame and butter) and potatoes. These potatoes were thick round discs of potato…PERFECTLY cooked, crispy on outside and tender on the inside. One of the best breakfast potatoes I’ve had.

Our kid had a plain waffle (not too exciting from our adult point of view but he liked it and it looked perfect.)

And my wife had oatmeal as her gluten free breakfast choice along with a side of vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli and carrots.)

The prices were also very reasonable. Much less expensive than similar standard diners (or the chains). We were super-happy with our choice to come to Bloom’s for breakfast. Everything from the food to the price was spot on. You can’t go wrong here for standard breakfast and...

What's not to like! Everything that I had and my friend had was excellent. The menu was very nice. The flavor the texture the quantity of the food was excellent. They must have the best cook in town!. Service with a smile. Someone came and took our order right away. The food arrived within a reasonable amount of time. The server did check on us often. There was some wait time but that was okay because we were not in a hurry. My friend was visiting from out of town so we had time to talk. We were there for breakfast and I was looking for something without pork. I asked for an option of steak in my omelette which was not on the menu. However it was made available for me. And was excellent. My friend ordered eggs benedict and it was excellent. I also picked up a to-go order for lunch later. that day. And it was also excellent. I will go back and I highly recommend it. The prices were wonderful and easily...

  • Update* This update is based on the reopened version of Blooms - I've removed two stars due to the fact that the restaurant has lost that special feeling that it had prior to it closing down.

Where before you felt "at home", now you are just at an eating establishment. The most recent experience with one of the waitresses shows that same kind of loss. You are treated as a table and not as a person, even though the place didn't look busy during lunch time.

Are food and drinks brought out as they should? Yes. Are you going to get "more" than that? Nope.

--- Prior version of review --- Great people. Great food in large portions. Well...

Very tasty local place. Came for breakfast on Saturday but learned that they only had a breakfast buffet option or lunch. At first I was bummed but the lunch was delicious! I had the half sandwich (club) and soup (pot roast). Others got the French dip and a burger and chili. Everything was delicious, fair prices, and service was great. Only reason it got four stars is because we were surprised that the only way you could get breakfast on a Saturday morning was by the buffet.

Food was very good, service was great. Charming atmosphere. They seat you and take your order but you have to go up to the register to pay when you are finished. Waited a long time to pay due to others in line choosing cookies, ice cream, placing orders, etc. Would definitely go back but will be prepared to leave cash if there is a line at the register.
