This was my very first time at Cracker Barrel. I came here with a friend after she insisted I try it. I wasn't impressed at all. There was a very bad smell inside of the gift shop as well as the restaurant, that smelled like a men's urinal. The food came out cold. I ordered the maple bacon chicken, with cornbread and a loaded baked potato. A woman brought the food out, and I noticed that I didn't get my cornbread. She didn't bother mentioning why until I asked someone else since I didn't see our waitress for a while. Apparently the cornbread wasn't done yet, but the woman said they'd bring them out as soon as they were. We waited for about 20-30 minutes and I asked again when I asked for a to-go box... So basically they were only brought out after being reminded twice, once when we were leaving. The food itself was cold (aside from the cornbread that was finally brought out) and completely bland. Maybe this was an off day for Cracker Barrel, I'm not really sure. But the whole experience was just bad in general. Only parts I liked was the game that was on the table, and the unicorn cat bottle that I saw in the gift shop.

We had early errands to run, and Cracker Barrel was our best and most convenient place for breakfast. We arrived at 7:15 on a Sunday morning and were seated immediately. Shauna was our excellent server today. I ordered the steak and eggs, and my wife had the eggs and pancakes. I also added the biscuit beignets for a try. Our food took a while which seemed a bit surprising since there was barely anyone else there. But it was well worth it. The beignets were different being made from biscuits rather than the more traditional puff pastry. Still very good. My wife's meal was cooked to perfection. My steak was slightly less than the desired medium, albeit well-seasoned and tender. For the price, we each had a lot which we boxed up and will have tomorrow. No objections other than the one server who brought out our beignets haphazardly shoved the basket onto the table and left. Maybe not a good morning for her. However, Shauna was great in every other aspect. Enjoy!

So, we thought it would be a nice surprise to take a cracker Barrel pumpkin pie to our "freindsgiving dinner" on Wednesday evening. On Monday night, we went online and ordered to have our pie picked up on our way to the party, with a nice warm Pumpkin pie in tow. We had a time to pick it up, so we showed up on time. After telling me our pie wasnt ready, 10 minutes later, I was presented with a Frozen pie right from the freezer. Still in its cardboard box, frozen solid, with plastic wrap around it. It looked just like a Marie Callendar pie. The staff was nice enough to ask if I wanted a bag. We had no idea we would have had to put PLEASE COOK in the special instructions when ordering. This was another chance for cracker barrel for me, as I stopped going there over twenty years ago. Never again!!!

I'm so disappointed that I really don't know what to say! I am a life long loyal customer of Cracker Barrel, but I'm afraid that has come to an end. I have several problems with the way things are now, but I don't feel like writing a book right now, so I may have to limit this.

Let me start with a specific example, The Country Boy Breakfast. I can't count how many times I've brought my family and friends to Cracker Barrel just because I was in the mood for the country boy breakfast. We're talking at least once a month for decades! So, like most companies, Cracker Barrel has raised their prices by huge margins, while at the same time shrinking the size of the meal and removing or limiting included items. And as if that wasn't bad enough, they took the small, yet fresh cut of sirloin steak and replaced it with pre-prepared beef tips, like you might eat over noodles with broth! They are not cooked to order, only well done. They are pre seasoned or marinated, and they are not good at all and absolutely do not go well with a breakfast meal! So all at once, they shrink the meal, swap fresh steak cooked to order for pre-packaged crap, and raise the price by 65%!

This isn't the Cracker Barrel I know! And when this change 1st took effect, I was told by the manager at the time that it was temporary. Well, it never changed back, so I don't know what their idea of temporary is! I know that loosing a customer doesn't mean much to Cracker Barrel, but at the same time, I'm not just one customer! I bring my extend family, including 3 generations of us, plus our friends and our kids friends! On top of that, we spend a lot of money in the store after our meal every single time we go! That being said, while this is not my only issue with Cracker Barrel now, it alone is enough to cause me to never go back! They literally took my favorite meal away from me. I have said for decades that if I had to choose my last meal, it would be the Country Boy Breakfast! Thanks for ruining...

WOW. Not what we hoped for at all. We needed to relax and enjoy a good meal. Did not happen. The waitress showed up after the girl took us in..mentioned drinks but had her back to us. Then wondered around tables..finally my friend went to a table by the window..had to call to the girl and said, we are sitting here. The waitress was in a hurry but who orders with out looking at what is offered..we asked for time to read it. She came back so fast, repeatedly, finally put up a small menu said when you lay it down, I'll be back! Gave us water and slammed the table. Really? Then a girl sweeping kept smamming the pick up broom..right up to My back and shoulder. I couldn't even talk about the menu to my friend, I glanced over my shoulder and the girl was inches from my face.. slam! On purpose? It gets worse, we ordered. The waitress was done with the order and I made a joke about wanting all of it..waitress with her back to us sarcastic says, yaa, and you Finnaly ! Ordered!! Really. I'm a senior with great hearing.. The burned food was brought, as the pics show, butter didn't have cut edge to bend and open , waitress said it did. No it did not..vision is good too. and I asked for apple butter with order..and didn't get any. 😑 waitress? My friend had chicken burned on edges and too tough to eat..mine, ng. As it gets better, when cashing out she said to cashier in response to being asked, how was it..said she couldn't even cut her chicken, and we were instantly double-teamed, by the clerks arguing with her, also a senior. it just "looks burned"..why didn't you tell waitress! OMG it's our fault now. Really?...

My kids (11 and 13) taste me to Mother's Day breakfast and I was very excited because they prefer Keke's or First Watch but since the day was about celebrating me, they agreed to go to Cracker Barrel. It's been a very long time since I visited a restaurant on Mother's Day because I know that it will be very busy, so maybe I should've lowered my expectations. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED. To start, me and my son's orders we incorrect. I decided to let my incorrect order slide and not mention it but his order couldn't be overlooked. So we waited for some time for our server to check in or even walk by and are 20 minutes, I got the attention of another server to ask if she could ask if server to come by our table. A man in a Blue Collared dress shirt came by to ask what we needed and I explained the issue of my son being brought the wrong food and he said he would let out server know. Well after another 20 minutes of waiting, I finally see our server and was about to get her attention and she had no clue that I had already told someone else who appeared to be a manager that my son was brought the wrong order. All of the food was ice cold (clearly not cooked to order) probably because it was very crowded and the service was horrendous. I paid the bill because my kids had wanted to take me elsewhere and I didn't want them to have to spend their saved money on an experience none of us enjoyed. We left and went to Culver's in Mt. Dora (which happens to be one of their favorites). I won't be visiting Cracker Barrel on a...
