I first want to say the food was pretty good, it was our first time trying Johnny Rockets so not much to compare it to. The shakes were very thin and we had asked for extra think shakes. That might have been due to the language barrier with our waiter. However the service was very lacking, we had been traveling all day and not familiar with the area. So we ignored the first of the red flags of the poor service due to being tired and not finding much options around our hotel outside of Burgers. We waited to be acknowledged and seated for about 5 minutes. Once seated we waited again for about 10 minutes before someone came to get our drink order. Yet another 5 minute wait to receive water by the first person who shoved them on table and walked away. We felt relieved when someone else came to take our order. That was a smooth process. Had to repeat a couple of things due to a slight language barrier, but overall a pleasant experience. But then came the wait again. About 30 minutes to get our shakes and food came right after. I had ordered chili tot and didn’t catch the waiter before he walked off to ask for a fork. After several attempts to flag down someone else because in the midst of this our waiter changed uniforms, we ask the waitress that brought our drinks for a fork. About 3 minutes later she comes back with a knife and scurried off before we could ask for more water. After a few more minutes our waiter reappears and we get water. We finish eating then wait another 10 minutes while our waiter is again MIA. When he reappears we quickly ask for the check before he disappeared again. He brings us the check and again disappears. Ended up taking the check to the counter after he didn’t come back. At the counter there is a sign saying that they think their staff is pretty awesome and that they ask that people do not use unkind words to them. I was so upset at the time I didn’t get a picture of it. I can understand not wanting to hear unkind things having worked in restaurants and retailers most of my life. The general public can be very mean at times, but it is frustrating when the service was so lacking. They didn’t appear to be busy until the end of our visit. Most of the time it was us and one other table in the restaurant at the time. I hope they were just having an off day and that this isn’t their norm. When I did give the check to the first waitress at the counter she barely acknowledged us. No smiles seen by anyone the entire time and barley any kindness toward the customers. Very sad experience overall, especially for a place that is located in a what appears to be a very popular mall and have signage asking for kindness towards...
Read moreMy husband and I tried this Johnny Rockets for the first time. We had been to another location years ago and enjoyed it and we recently wanted to experience the fun environment and good food again and this location was closest. So we went during a slower time in the day- in between lunch and dinner
However, this location was not their best performance. The fries (that don’t come with your burger and you have to pay extra for) were cold and stale. Not inedible but pretty disappointing. Burgers were a solid okay, not terrible but also not very memorable. Definitely not worth the $$$.
The environment and was a little distracting with the kitchen crew, servers etc. With the kitchen being open and in view of the customers it was loud. I’m totally okay with people having fun while they work, i’ve worked in restaurants before and it is important to do so. But this crew was a tad too loud, too casual and distracted. They were eating Chinese food from plates on the counters. And while talking and laughing is perfectly fine- they were so chatty that they themselves were distracted and they were distracting to those around them. Once seated, we waited 15-20 mins till the server came to our table to take our order (she was in the kitchen laughing/talking). Lot’s of crew standing around, on phones etc. (not switching gloves in between food and phone and touching of faces). Just overall not a professional environment. Not looking for stiff and severe just more attentive and polished.
Oh and the bathroom door handle was broken so we couldn’t access the bathroom (it was empty - we knocked. Perhaps it’s just fickle and it is fine but we couldn’t seem to get the handle to work).
There are a couple smaller things that took away from the experience but the combination of dissatisfaction in food and the overly casual and distracted crew has deterred is from going to this...
Read moreSo from previous comments I think I was a lucky customer. When I went here a few weeks ago I went in because ive never heard of johnny rockets before. I was shocked by how nice the location looked. I Accidentally came in the wrong side, but the server seated me and my fiance in no time. She was a wonderful serve. I asked her how johnny rockets operated. My server explained everything in detail without missing a beat and was patient with me and took both of our orders and even explain how to operate the juke box :) played a classic song that I hadn't heard in a long time and before I knew it, half the staff started singing along and dancing and making the environment warm and joyful :) she was attentively checking up on us and made sure we got everything we needed. She refilled our drinks without us having to track her down. The food wasnt greesy or hard. I ordered a double jalapeno burger with fries and a drink. My fiance ordered the chicken tenders.
The food was perfect, the service was amazing. The staff friendly and it was great. And I do not go to really expensive restaurants but ive gone to the old spaghetti factory (in Sugar house) TGI Friday's (in west valley) Dennys (in murray salt lake and woods cross before they got replaced) rodizio grill (in Sugar house) and id rather drive 30 miles to receive this kind of service that i got at johnny rockets (I live in kearns utah). I only wish I remembered my servers name.
The only down side I found at this location in lehi was that (at least our booth) the seats felt old and needing of replacement. But the food was so good that I didnt even care during my visit.
I do not expect my review to change anyone's idea of this place but for me and my fiance, we had the time of our lives in this location and the food was amazing and worth every penny. Its definitely worth a visit...
