November 16, 2013 (1st anniversary of Outlets at Traverse Mountain mall) (Double-LINE-FEED needed, and HTML ones don't work!)
I thought that going into a chocolate store would be a nice experience, but this particular location has ruined that for me! Never do business with so-called "owners" that are still stuck in their lame 20-somethings, because they think they're "all that and a box of chocolates"! (LINE-FEEDS needed.)
These guys do not allow innocent curious questions in their store, unlike what reasonable, good business managers/owners would do. They get all unjustly annoyed like whiny cry-babies at the least bit of reasonable curiosity about their store (and no, I do not mean trade secrets, as if lame 20-somethings could have thought of any) such as how they started it or why the franchises have notable price- and product discrepancies unlike McDonald's franchises, etc.; or more important questions like ones about combining punch-card/stamp-card reward coupons (like in case you can't find one you had and then get another and then find the previous one later). (LINE-FEEDS needed.)
The idiot guy even wrongfully accused me of so-he-called "loitering" just because before I got in line to order I was asking a few questions and looking at the product and then standing in line. He wrongfully claimed that I was supposedly "loitering for 45 minutes"! Well "excUUSE me, 'bud'," but most of that time was taken up just WAITING IN LINE FOR YOU SLOW-POKES to get your crap done for a few earlier customers! If you don't want people to even browse or ask a few questions about your store, then you should NOT be in business, because that is terrrible customer nonservice! It was such a bad experience that I left my already-used purchases there and made them return my money and then left! If I could give this review ZERO stars, I would! (LINE FEEDS)
While their chocolate drink product has several flavors that not all franchises have, they charge a much higher price for a "large" that isn't even as big as the large size at the somewhat neighboring Provo store, and it costs a lot more even without the extra flavoring. This "large" is $3.25 without the extra flavoring ($.50 even more for a shot of extra flavoring), and it's only 16 ounces. The small size here is only 8 oz but is still $2.75, the price of the large 20-oz. size at Provo! (I'll have to investigate the American Fork store and see how their selection is. Thank goodness they have separate franchisees!) And what flavor it does have tastes watered down compared to the Provo franchise's good and strong hot chocolate drink! Provo's small size is $2.00. (LINE FEEDS)
I do recommend visiting the PROVO store (or one of the others) instead, because its (Provo's) owners are much more reasonable and friendly! I asked them some similar questions and then asked if they thought those were "annoying" or if they thought I was supposedly "loitering," and they said no--and with a happy tone as confirmation! Good on ya, Provo store for being worthy of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory name, which this Lehi store is NOT! Let the Lehi store learn a lesson or 2 or 3 or more about how to treat...
Read moreI feel scammed. I drove about an hour here to try the advertised Dubai Chocolate Bar and paid the $15 for a very small size bar. Upon paying I was handed a device with a tip screen that didn't show a "no tip" option. I am not a fan of gratuity being forced, especially when there was no 'service' provided.
Back to the bar - when breaking it apart, I noticed it has very thin filling and not the proper consistency for a Dubai Chocolate bar. It tasted and felt like coconut, NOT Kataifi. I couldn't taste the pistachio paste beyond the milk chocolate exterior. The whole defining factor of the viral Dubai Chocolate bar is the filling, and what I received was not what was advertised.
I also purchased several other items, among them were stale chocolate covered pretzels. The chocolate is alright, but the price is just not justifiable to me.
Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I will not...
Read moreWe stopped in and got three caramel apples, a chocolate covered pretzel, and a caramel and chocolate covered rice Krispy treat. They were all yummy, though some of the apple flavors were better than others. The Apple Pie Apple? SUPER YUMMY! We will definitely get that one again. We got one that was chocolate and toffee, and it was underwhelming. The sea salt caramel was ok, but not fabulous. It was not salted enough to be sea salt caramel, but enough to be too salty for normal, so it was just kind of, off. All in all, it was a good once in a while treat, but too much to be an all the time thing. Our treats cost $37 with the apples being the most expensive individual items at 7.50 each. They did cut them up for us though so all 6 people were able to try the different flavors without slobbering all over the same apple. THAT was MUCH...
