Okay. So to start, this restaurant is a satellite of their Orem location. They make some elements here, but ultimately their main menu element, the rotisserie chicken, is not made at this location, it is cooked in Orem, likely cooled and brought to this location and reheated. To the uninformed consumer it's alright. But it's inconsistent at best.
At our table we had 7 orders of chicken. Of those, 2 were small shriveled and dry. 2 a tad dry, and 3 lukewarm to cold. The reheating process toughens the meat. It's nowhere near as good as going to the Orem location.
Additionally side quality is simply lower? The fries are about 60% the portion size I would have gotten in Orem.
The brightest thing about my visit was the Lomo Saltado. It was good and had a nice amount of garlic and sauce. Enjoyable.
The staff are evidently frustrated by this setup. They get must get alot of complaints, which is understandable. Especially if you've ever been to their Orem location. Ultimately the owner needs to eat the cost of producing food on site. If I want reheated food I can go to my fridge and have a similar experience. When I go to a restaurant I have the basic expectation the food is made in house. Not made somewhere else and shipped to effectively a remote dining room. If you can't afford to do this, raise prices. That's how 2023 is.
I feel bad for the staff that must serve food they don't believe in, and cannot replace because they likely have rules preventing them from taking care of the people who have paid for food.
Sad. Not planning on returning.
In reply to the owner: I'm not overthinking, I'm pointing out that you have an amazing product that you are kneecapping. You are hurting your own success and the reviews show this. With this...
Read moreWe arrived 45 min before closing time, thinking it was still a reasonable time to go and order. First of all, it doesn’t take 2 teenage girls to take orders. Especially if they aren’t even paying attention to see if there’s customers standing in front of them. They were just giggling and on their phones. While they weren’t paying attention, we noticed the cooks in the back pointing at us and pointing at the time. The guys in the back went to said something to the 2 girls in front. When the 2 girls finally realized we were standing there, they took our orders and said it was going to take 40 min for our food to be ready. (Thinking that we would leave and go somewhere else) We said it was fine and decided to wait the “40 min”. As we waited, it took no more than 10-15 min for them to bring out our food. 5 min into eating our food, one of the girls came up to us and told us that they were closed and said we had to leave. We checked to see what time it was and there was still 10 min to close. We asked for some boxes to take our food and said they were all out. We told them that we were then going to stay until we finished our food because we just got it. They magically found some to-go boxes and brought them out to us. We packed up our food and left with still 5 min before closing. The staff was extremely rude, disrespectful, and rushed not only us but multiple customers that were just trying to eat their food (rightfully so since they were still within working hours). This location used to be good. Now we’ll be sure to tell everyone about the horrible service they...
Read moreI had been wanting to visit here for several months. Today, I suggested to my family that we go for dinner. The chicken was very good, but overall my experience was just okay. I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping to love it. The ordering process didn’t take too long and was fairly easy. Our food took longer than I had hoped, but I think that’s because we were hungry. I ordered 1/4 chicken with black beans and avocado slices (I forgot a photo of my meal). My wife got 1/4 chicken with fries and avocado slices. My first note was the differing portion sizes between our meals. She had 3/4 basket of fries (photo was taken after eating many) as one of her sides, where I had about a 1/4 cup of black beans. Although the food was tasty, the portions weren’t filling for either of us. The second note I had was my avocado wasn’t ripe yet, which makes it not easy to pick up with utensils and not soft enough to eat. Our ticket was the two meals, an extra side of rice, and one fountain drink for $24. If the portions had been equal, filling, and ripe it would have been a much more pleasant evening. The food wasn’t bad, just not enough value for my family.
ETA: I appreciate the owners response. The chicken was good, but value was below par and not enough to make up the difference. The chicken might be worth your visit. You make the call.
