Was surprising disappointed. This was the last Hotel of my trip and they fell short in many ways. Firstly, they don't offer microwaves in the rooms. Every other Hyatt Place I've stayed at has offer microwaves upon request if the room was not equipped. The only alternative was to come down from the room into the breakfast area and use the microwave in the lobby. Very inconvenient. Secondly, tried to enter the hot tub on the first evening, but it was lukewarm... After trying to stick it out for a bit and speaking to staff, turns out it was turned off for maintenance that day and hadn't warmed back up yet. I would think putting a sign up on the pool door would be a simple way to warn guests of this. Thirdly I was the "guest of the day" which was something new, I even made a joke about it upon checking in and was met with a blank stare; other than my name on a sign, no other acknowledgement was made. I ended up inquiring about it a few days later and apparently the "guest of the day" is random and supposed to get a small token upon check in. There was also a small issue on check out where I forgot something in my room and the system would not let the desk staff issue a new key, and I had to wait a few minutes for him to personally let me back into the room (he was very apologetic, but it was just one last frustration as I was on my way to meet people)
I'm not sure if it's because every other hotel I had stayed at in the previous two weeks went above and beyond in customer service but this stay was disappointing and well below expectations.
In terms of facilities, the hotel room was fairly standard for Hyatt, seemed fairly new, although no freezer in the mini fridge. They did have a small but nice hot tub (once it warmed up), lots of free parking, close to the interstate. It's also awkwardly "in" the outlet mall, but also separate so it's not super easy to walk around, so you basically have to drive anywhere. I stayed here because of the price and probably would spend a bit more to stay...
Read moreOverall the stay was pleasant. The staff was super friendly. The housekeeping we bumped into was friendly and smiled as she offered to attend any needs we may have had. The room was clean and welcoming with a beautiful view over the pool looking across the valley of Utah County with Utah Lake (#dontpaveutahlake) in the distance to the right and Mount Timpanogos to the left.
Check in was not the best, (Grade C). Colton was at the front desk and was very friendly and pleasant, he greeted us with a smile and was efficient in checking our reservation and Getting us into a room. Making sure he covered everything he went over the pet policy with us, at which time we explained we had a Service Animal and unnecessarily provided him with our service animals documentation/ID. Colton explained they would wave the pet fee but then said he would need to put us in a different room because of our pet. I explained that for him to do so would be a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). That the ADA Garantees access and that to change my room based on my service animals presence would be discrimination. He tried to say it was a state law that prevented him from allowing pets in rooms not designated "pet" rooms. I shouldn't have to explain that putting a Service Animal in a room that has had untrained animals in it, prevents the Service Animal from doing its job. But I did. I also had to repeatedly explain that my Animal was not a pet. He did finally relent after a supervisor came out. The Hot tub needs service. And Getting pool towls was harder than pulling Excalibur from the stone...js.
Although the service overall was excellent. The biggest deterrent to our return is going to be the complimentary coffee. It was beyond bad. I actually question if an old dirty sock was used as a coffee filter. I commend the manager for attempting to placate me with a coffee from the lobby Starbucks which was passable as coffee. I'm not sure we...
Read moreWe booked our rooms by phone. If I remember right it was Cynthia that helped us. The service was good. The only thing that I noticed was that I had to ask about the military discount, and it seemed that the person we talked to had to get confirmation that they offered a discount. I already knew from the World of Hyatt app that the discount was available though.
We got in very late, at around 4am. I booked two rooms but only one room showed up in the app. I used the app and checked into one room while on the road still, but we had to call about the second room. We were informed that they hold the room until 2am unless you call in. We called much earlier than that, but it would have been nice to know that little detail ahead of time.
We booked adjacent rooms which we called to confirm they had set up for us. Again it seems like the person we talked to had to set it up and didn’t know we had booked it. Thankfully everything was worked out before we made it to the site.
On arrival we found a full parking lot. There were just a few open spots. The lot is slightly smaller than it should be. We always found a spot but having an oversized SUV you have to be careful.
The rooms were awesome. Everything was clean, and ready for us to crash after 12 hours on the road.
Breakfast was served until 9am on weekdays and 10am on the weekend. It was standard hotel breakfast. The dishes were clean. The orange juice was fresh. This weekend was pretty busy so the available seating was minimal.
The hotel is located in the middle of a shopping area. There are outlets across the street in one directing and more outlets plus a grocery store in the other direction. There are multiple food options around, and a Cabelas nearby.
Overall I enjoyed my stay. I was there three nights but could stay for a...
