We have lived in the area for some time. We were thrilled when Fork and Spoon took occupancy in the Centennial Plaza several years ago.
The restaurant is very clean, modern and welcoming. We typically like to go for breakfast, but have had lunch and take-out numerous times as well. The portions are plentiful, the food is fresh and tasty, and the service is very good and attentive. The staff has always been very friendly and accommodating. I attend a golf outing with a group of friends each year at Cog Hill and since introducing them to Fork and Spoon a few years ago, it has been a yearly morning stop before our outing. Everyone enjoys it.
A saw a few comments regarding price, but I’ve eaten at several places on the North side of the city where I work and price is consistent with the market. As in most cases you pretty much get what you pay for. It’s not their fault that inflation is at an all time high. If you’ve bought milk, eggs, meat or bread at your local supermarket lately, then you know.
Anyway, if you’re a foodie who likes a good breakfast or lunch I suggest you...
Read moreMy friend and I went for breakfast last Sunday 7/26. Our server couldn't seem to keep up so another server took care of us after about 15 min. I didn't really have a problem with that since I have been in the restruant business for over 40 years I understood that. We were there about an hour not counting the time it took to be waited on and when we got our food. We were just finishing up our coffee when the blond server from the station by the register came over and said let me fill these ( the jellies ) which didn't need filling she came came back and said all done. This was not even her station. I knew just what was going on they wanted us to leave that was her way of telling us That server made it very obvious I also know you don't do side work at 11.30 in the morning. We intened to leave as soon as we finished our coffee which we didn't finish. I kept an eye on the waiting people there was a big party and two other people waiting. I felt like I was being pushed out. Will I ever come back I am not sure and I will say the food was good. That is why I...
Read moreUnfortunately, I had high expectations because the previous breakfast restaurant owned by Andy Avalos was amazing. We walked in on a Saturday at 8 am ( when I would expect there to be a wait) but there were plenty of open tables and we were seated immediately. We were seated next to the kitchen.
First impression of the space, I like the updates to the decor!!!
Coffee: extremely bitter.
Service: attentive.
Food: the menu itself was exciting. I ordered a veggie skillet and it was decent, but not extraordinary.
Where the experience became a 3 instead of a 4 star review. The staff was talking about "trashy people", very personal matters that were unprofessional to hear, in the kitchen next to our booth. My expectation when eating breakfast is to have a nice time with my family and to not to overhear personal conversations from staff. I understand it's important to have a relationship with your co workers, but do it in a place your customers can't overhear your conversation. Please don't have these conversations next to customers and the customer experience...
