Access to the restaurant was ridiculous in my opinion, My order was a 5 piece chicken tender meal with mash potatoes and gravy and corn with a biscuit & a Pepsi to drink. I donated $1 also. For $15 the meal wasn't worth the price with the donation added in total price. Chicken strips were small and not close to being similar in size & luke warm the corn was bland & very dry. Mashed potatoes & gravy was luke warm as well as the whole meal was also they were to me child portions. 3 spoonfuls and it's gone. The biscuit was cold & dry too. Upon leaving the drive thru I immediately pulled over to check the order and grab a chicken strip to eat on the way back to work. This is the first time I've visited this particular KFC. To get back to the main street it was confusing and a time consuming maze. The value & portions & price wasn't worth it at all. I could've spent a couple more bucks and bought a bucket of chicken with adult sized portions and would've had chicken to snack on later. Everything has gone up in price & it seems you don't get what you think you're going to receive not only at this establishment practically at every fast food place around. Time of purchase was about 12:45 pm on a Saturday. Staff were courteous ,polite and quick to get my order & it was all there. I love KFC but this was terrible from food to the way you navigate the drive thru to leaving the parking lot. I haven't been back nor...
Read moreMy wife has, for some reason known only to her, (she's recovering from an illness) had me bring her home KFC four times in the past month. I had personally given up on this location many months back. Orders are just never quite right. Something always seems to be wrong or something is missing. It could be just the spork and napkin missing. It could be the dipping sauce is not in the bag. Sometimes the price just doesn't seem to be quite right for what was ordered based on last visit.
Tonight I ordered her standard, two breast, wing, mashed potatoes, biscuit. Same thing as the three previous weeks. The cashier/assistant manager insisted that that choice (three piece white) included two sides and a drink. If I wanted one side and no drink, I'd have to order two piece. Not quite sure what two pieces that would be. Well I'd successfully ordered two breasts and a wing with one side successfully three times this month previously. Frankly, I walk with a cane, and carrying a drink to the car with a bag of chicken is a bit of challenge, take out drinks are flat on arrival, and wife didn't want two sides.
The menu on the wall is basically unfathomable. What I am looking for, I believe is consistency ... between visits and between stores first, and the ability to order what I want, second. I'm not sure I require KFC or any fast food to actually have...
Read moreWow—thank you! What a fantastic experience from someone who’s been eating at KFC (sporadically) for over 30 years.
For a long time, I had pretty much given up hope. With so many locations closing and the declining quality at others, it was disappointing. Even though there's a KFC closer to me in Shawnee, I still make the drive to Lenexa—and it's absolutely worth it.
The Original Recipe chicken is no easy task. It takes real skill to properly brine, bread, and fry it. More often than not, I’ve encountered greasy, undercooked, or overcooked versions elsewhere. But here? They do it right.
I’m happy to say the quality and service I remember from the '90s and 2000s is alive and well at this location. There’s an extremely friendly front-line staff member handling in-store, drive-thru, and carryout orders like a champ. And the small kitchen crew? They’re clearly skilled and making it all happen, even as a skeleton team.
It feels great to enjoy KFC the way it was meant to be...
