I was quite doubtful about this place since I saw too many ad-looking viral posts on social media. And here is my honest opinion(I didn't get any discount for this review):
The scone was actually, really good. I am a scone fan, and I've had a lot of scone experience. Their scone was actually high quality, and they truly made it from scratch. THAT SAID, $5.25(+tax) for a single scone is overpriced. Scones don't take too much effort or ingredients to bake, so no matter how good they are, it should be less than $5 in my personal opinion.
Earl Grey tea tasted fine since the brand they use was decent, but still, $4 for a single tea bag in hot water seemed overpriced as well.
All the staff members were kind and friendly. The place was nice and clean, so I could assume they were good at their job. Just mind what time you visit because it gets crowded around after-lunchtime(?) and it'd be hard to chill surrounded by the noise.
Overall, the place has good bakery menus and beverages, nice people and atmosphere, etc, but still it feels slightly overpriced. To be fair, everything is overpriced these days so I don't blame them, but just saying. I would probably revisit here anyway if I crave really...
Read moreUpdate: had a really weird experience on my second visit. Aside from the fact that they were out of most of their items early afternoon, one of the female workers completely closed out my transaction while i was putting in my phone number for rewards after paying. She wasn’t even the individual who took my order but she walked over to the register while i was typing in my number and tapped something on the register to close it out so it didn’t go through at all. It’s not a big deal but it was just really strange behavior. I’ll probably just order from the kiosk next time, if i go back.
Tried the regular scone, bacon and cheddar scone, and banana cream shot. My husband and I both love scones and these were probably the best we’ve had so far. Definitely a bit pricey but pretty much on par with other small...
Read moreOur family visited Cafe de Lyon today and ordered several items. House Coffee: We tried both hot and iced coffee, and they are good. Coffee has sour taste, so if you're a fan of sour taste coffee, you'll enjoy it. Oak Oat Latte: It is different than regular oat latte. It has deep & strong oak taste which goes well with latte. This is nutty & bolder than house coffee, so I enjoyed it. Soft Serve (Pure Milk): This is one of the best items in Cafe de Lyon. It is very creamy, rich and sweet milk ice cream which is perfect for hot summer day. Bacon, Cheddar & Scallion Scone: If you want to try some savory item, I recommend to get this scone. Scone (scallion pieces inside) is not too sweet, so salty bacon & cheddar pair well with it. I definitely recommend this place...
