02/17/24, after several recommendations we stopped in for a late lunch following a Bucknell Wrestling match. We kept it simple, cheeseburger with fries from the kids menu, salad, dozen wings, side of jalapeño poppers, side of fried pickles, 1 root beer, 1 water, 1 draft beer. For starters, the fried pickles for $9 came 6 on a plate and were about the size of French fries. I've been to other places where you get a mound of them for the same price. The jalapeño poppers weren't jalapeño at all, just breaded, fried spicy cheese, again not many for $9 I believe. You can get a bag full of actual jalapeño poppers at Weis hot bar for 1/3 the price. The wings were small, hot on the outside, but cold on the inside, how this is possible is beyond me, they also were poor tasting, my old bay seasoning was fine, it was poor tasting chicken. My son's French fries were cold, brown and soggy. He asked 3 times for pickles with his cheeseburger, no pickles came, the cheese wasn't melted and the burger was cold. My Fiance had a salad, which she said was ok. Way, way overpriced for the portions and quality of food. As far as atmosphere, the lamp at our table was covered in dust, crumbs along the wall at the edge of the table, crumbs on the bench seat. A group of middle aged loud obnoxious women sat at a table next to us making it impossible to have a conversation, but that can happen anywhere I suppose. And last, the restrooms were marked Hens, (women) and Drakes, (men) the men's room light was burned out, the door didn't lock, and one of said women opened the bathroom door while I was washing my hands, laughed and shouted, well I don't know what the hell a drake is. I would expect this type of product and behavior if I were at a block party in Schuylkill County, but not...
Read moreI accidentally ended up here again, taking from 2 stars to 1, still a bad place to go eat. Want some fermented sour mayo and ketchup then this is your place! (They should be refrigerated when not is use, not kept in room heat for perpetuity) The food is good, however the 2 older female server and bartender make the entire experience so unpleasant. My group of 3 arrived and had to wait by the "please wait to be seated" for 5-10 minutes. The place was empty though... Waiting is not a problem, however there wasn't even any acknowledgement, even as the bartender and server continued to walk right past us multiple times. When we were finally greeted, it wasn't with a "hello" or anything friendly, but with a "kitchen is going to be 30 minutes behind". When we stated that we didn't mind the wait, she then proceeded to tell us that we can sit anywhere. It was then about 15 minutes before we were even offered water. At that point we gave our drink and meal order because who knows how long we'd have to wait for her to come back. Food did take the 30 minutes as was warned, which was not the issue. After our food was dropped off to us, our server not once willingly came back to our table. She one time asked how we were doing as she was passing our table while walking back to the kitchen, not even waiting to hear our answer before continuing on. Didn't stop at our table. Didn't make eye contact. I had to stop her during her walks a couple of times asking for a refill on water, side of ranch I asked for when I ordered that wasn't delivered with the food, a box, and for the check. The food is always something I hype up to friends and family stopping in Lewisburg, but i will no longer recommend this restaurant due to the unpleasantness of these particular...
Read moreWe flipped a coin between this place and the restaurant right across the street, really wish I had read the reviews first. It was a "seat yourself", which is fine but then they really should pay enough attention to who enters. We waited for well over 10 minutes until someone came with menus, and it was not busy with plenty of wait staff walking around. My husband ordered lemonade, was giving a pink drink, I assume they were out of regular lemonade, but no mention of anything. We ordered a regular cheese steak and then their "famous" black diamond cheese steak, I asked for medium-rare (the menu specifically says that it gets cooked to your liking). We also ordered bison fries (cheese and bacon, with sour cream). Regular cheese steak was fine. Specialty cheese steak was way overdone, chewy and not tasty at all. Our waiter didn't actually come and check on us at all, instead we had to call over another waitress who was kind enough to take my plate and had the kitchen remake my steak. When it finally came back, the meat was cooked like I requested, but by then my husband had finished and the fries were cold. We had to ask for sour cream, by the time that came, fries were cold.
Lastly, the men's toilet had 2 urinals, and a regular toilet however no actual stall around the toilet so men are supposed to do a #2 in front of whoever is urinating. I don't understand how this is acceptable, aren't men entitled to the same privacy as women in a bathroom?
Overall, it was just a bad experience. Our waiter looked like he'd rather be anywhere else, he showed no care and barely "waited" as we had to ask a 3rd person to bring us the check. The food was below average and the vibe that some reviews mention was not present in...
