True story: The bartender had a friend who was a patron. The bartender and her were taking shots racking up a tab. I paid my tab, left a $100 tip because I felt sorry they were working on July 4th and I'm a nice guy who has bartended on holidays in the past. I was only there for an hour. The bartender's friend stole my debit card to pay her and the bartender's bill. I caught them and an argument ensued. They finally refunded me the money after several minutes and said it was no big deal and that I was the problem for having an issue with it. They asked me to leave which is what I was trying to do until they stole my card. So when they asked me to leave, I went out to the parking lot to wait on my uber. Instead of taking the L with the argument like an adult, the manager who watched her employee drink while working and steal from me followed me outside to continue the argument and to tell me to get out of their parking lot. I was not on their property anymore and was waiting on my uber. The parking lot is shared by several other businesses so it's not their parking lot. He thought it was, so he called the police. They lied and made up things to try to get me in trouble. These people are disgusting trying to protect a thief and drinking on the job and trying to take advantage of my generosity. I couldn't believe it and you cannot make this type of stuff up. I dare the owners upload the security footage from that night to youtube 07/05/2023 1:35 am. They won't because they're pieces of Sh and know they're wrong and thieves. That was my first time there and only went because it was on Bar Rescue. Now I know why it was on the show to begin with and they have...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this place after a year of living in Lewisville. It always caught our attention driving by Round Grove when it was called The Drunken Donkey, but we just never got the chance to go. Finally after the transformation we made time to go and try out their awesome food. We get there on a Friday at about 7pm, place was almost packed and no one ever came to our table, except for the outdoor waitress with the red hair (didn’t catch her name) she noticed that it had been a while and no one waited on us. She brought it upon her self to get us some waters, and the menu. And assured us that she will alert the waitress assigned to our table. Minutes go by and nothing, I had to go up and tell them that our table had been forgotten about. At this point I was very annoyed but we were already there and I was really hungry so we shrugged it off. The Red headed waitress took our order (it wasn’t her table to wait on but she so kindly took our order and apologized even though it wasn’t her fault) I really appreciate that she did that. Also Devon (I hope I spelled it right) I think he was the owner or manger came to apologize to us and tried to make things right, which I totally appreciate. He did not have to do that, but we were so grateful especially for that bread pudding? That was delicious. I just wanted to make this review to give a shout out to Butcher Brew and Pub for genuinely caring about its customers and going above and beyond for them. I wanted to give a shoutout to the red haired waitress (I wish I knew her name, but I’m sure this will find her way to her anyways) I really enjoyed the food, it was delicious and I will definitely keep on...
Read moreMy sweetie and I enjoy a few beers and a burger before a well deserved nap on a Saturday. This place is great for that. Close to home, great selection, pretty good food and Caitlin at the bar is wonderful -- all is great right?? Well, sortof... you see, this site was a test location for the owners (for which I am grateful). The original mangers were hospitable, engaging and really did everything they could to be sure we always had a great experience. Then they opened The Colony store and us poor folks in Lewisville were left with the new manager, Patrick. I'm sure Patrick is a skilled worker, but I have yet to see him display any skills that one would expect from a restauranteur. He isn't particularly polite, he never smiles, he is openly rude to the staff (yup, I've seen it) and worst of all, he lies to his customers. He literally told my wife and I that he had no control over the volume coming out of the speakers in the store. Really?? Like I don't expect there to be a volume control, or a flippin' off button? We were the only ones in the store at the time. Since that time, we find ourselves asking if he is there before we sit down. I'm sure he is good for something in the operation, but front of house isn't it. At minimum I expect any manager to be respectful of employees. Bar staff is the mainstay for folks like us who spend $100+ a visit and we really don't want to see our pals (servers) berated. Correction and education is part of the manager's job but if it can't be done professionally I really don't want to patronize the store. If turnover is a problem in the Lewisville location I may have isolated the issue. C'mon Drunken Donkey owners, you...
