UPDATE: Before I saw this from the owner, I did try Motor City pizza again (Lewisville, TX FM 407). I actually saw the owner when I picked up my pizza and he rudely blows out of the kitchen area, right past customers walking in without a nod, smile, thank you for you business, just a "chip on the shoulder" kind of guy. Other reviews here mentioning him said he acted too good to help customers on a busy night and just sat there watching his overwhelmed staff try to take care of customers as fast as they could. I concur that he acts like he's a class above we customers who keep his business open. Greg, it doesn't matter what length of time you quote the pizza will be ready, it matters if the pizza is fresh and hot. It was hot the second time. Bottom line, I experienced what I experienced and gave an honest review. Customers don't always have time to post reviews immediately. ORIGINAL: If the pizza had been thoroughly heated throughout I'd been very happy, sadly somehow a semi deep dish pizza only took 10 minutes or less to bake. I was at Motor City 10 minutes on the dot to ordering take-out when they opened just after 11am. The pizza was handed to me the moment I walked in! I live 5 minutes from there, it was 85+ degrees out, pizza in back seat away from the air conditioner and I went straight home. Got home, excitedly popped the lid and the veggies were still cold from the cooler. The crust was barely above room temperature, cheese just melted - not gooey, no stretch when you took a bite. I like crunchy veggies, but man, when the pizza is cool to the touch and the veggies on top cold 15 minutes from ORDERing, not 15 minutes out of the oven, 15 minutes from ordering - geezzzz guys!! Clearly the crust on my pizza had been left over from the night before (like Subway keeps their bread over night for the early morning customers), the oven hadn't heated up yet and they keep their fridge super cold (the latter being a good thing). I can only imagine what the pizza tastes like when it's baked from scratch, fresh and BAKED all the way through instead of heated/warmed up. If I could count on a fresh, baked through pizza, I'd definitely go back. The sauce was really good. Although cold and day old, the crust had a nice flavor too. If done correctly every time, I think this would be my...

Grab a friend who likes to swap and share and head to Motor City Pizza !!!STAT!!! You’ll feel pretty VIP with the reserved parking spots. Although, worry not there’s plenty of general parking for everyone in the strip center parking lot.
When you open the door - there’s a great ambiance with a small staff and a happy vibe. When entering we were a bit nervous we’d be stuck waiting in the cold. As it was full. But lucky us, there were a few empty red metal pub height stools available (but scattered) & friendly couples scooted and shifted around so we could be seated as well. I’d estimate about 40-50(ish) folks could dine here at once. Primarily 4 tops, but the tables are all free standing and can be configured to accommodate larger families/groups. The pub height seats totaled about 8-10.
The owner (we believe) was soooo funny and sharp and caring and attentive. He had amazing knowledge, shared about creating the menu and his passion for crafting fun beverages and cleverly, intentionally, and lovingly naming all the great items.
We had The Hoffa on GF crust and added ricotta cheese. Also, couldn’t go without trying a pizza similar to a Detroit style pizza joint we love in ATX. So, we ordered a Texas Sweet Heat with a side of chipotle ranch for dipping.
Now could we have eaten our entire pizzas without sharing? Yes. But whyyyy? And would we devour every morsel? Yes. BUT... a to-go box was offered before we completely stuffed ourselves.
The crowd was typical of any Lewisville sit-down restaurant - lots of khakis, some TCU alumni, dudes grabbing a bite after work in polos with logos.
Eagerly counting down the days for our next visit - when we will...
Read moreI've been wanting to come to this Detroit style pizza restaurant for a few months. The first time I came was on a monday bit they were closed. Then I checked the hours of operation and saw they are closed Monday and Tuesdays and Wednesdays they close at 3. I finally made it on a day that they were open.
I walked in, and the place was nice. No one was in the restaurant except 2 staff members. I was greeted by the server and told to sit anywhere. I sat down and she brought me a menu. I took a photograph of. I saw 2 pizzas i wanted to try and asked her which one she recommended between the Motown Supreme and the Hoffa. She said the Motown was very good. I ordered that one. She asked if I wanted a salad, and I looked at the menu and ordered a garden salad. She brought out the salad and let me tell you the salad could feed at least 2 it was big. The only thing I can say bad is that I wish the salad was colder.
I killed the salad, and then the pizza came out. It was hot, and the bottom was nice and toasty crunchy. The pizza flavor was very good and had a dollop of ricotta cheese on every square. I really enjoyed the pizza, but it was just kinda of pricey. The pizza is in a rectangle shape, and I believe the large had 8 squares. Crust was good and buttery. The flavor was on point. I ate a couple of slices because I was full from the salad I took the rest to go for later.
Restaurant 7 oura 10 nice and clean Employee 7 outa 10 gave me good advice on pizza Salad 5 outa 10 wish it would have been colder Pizza 7 outa 10 pretty solid but pricey
All in all, I would probably come back, skip the salad and try the Hoffa pizza, and also bring friends and family who are from...
