Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Lewisville

I can’t believe that I have to write this review… but at least I got a chuckle today!

I placed an order for a small coffee and a cinnamon roll on the app. I had a reward and since this is my normal order- I went with it.

I ordered it at 11:23 and got ready to leave for my work day… mind you- I’m going to work and placed this order a good 30 minutes before I got there.

I get there and, the barista was nice.. Not unexpected… until she tried to tell me “hey so we JUST took your cinnamon roll out of the freezer, so I would recommend sitting it out when you get home so it can thaw”

I’m sorry, what? This is my breakfast literally and I wasn’t going back home to thaw out something that’s not my job to thaw? When I explained I’m not on my way back home this was my first stop and asked if she could try- she tried to tell me how she couldn’t because it’s freshly frozen. I asked her to at least try to get it warmed… which she didn’t. The frosting thawed, but the roll itself was still very much frozen.

Not sure how your day starts at this coffee shop but… typically your customers aren’t going back home immediately and definitely should not be responsible for preparing something you all should’ve prepped when you got to work. So many other ways this could’ve gone. She could’ve offered me something else, or let me know how I can get that part of my reward back… something else other than telling me to go home and thaw out my cinnamon roll… ANYTHING ELSE.

Story Time: Super late one night, I discovered I had a large fraudulent charge on my card, so I called and had my only payment card deactivated. The next morning, half asleep, I drove into Scooters needing a jolt of caffeine. Lacking any brain power, I ordered the very fist thing I saw on the menu and proceeded around the corner to pay.

When the card did not work, I suddenly remembered the stress of the night before and told the sweet lady in the window "that card is my only form of payment and I had to shut it off last night " (yes I know I should always carry cash on me, but I didnt) The sweet girl handed me the drink anyway and told me, "Here it's on the house, and I hope you get the fraud thing figured out. Have a nice day."

The next morning, I swung by again, this time with cash in hand,and told the a different young lady about yesterday's kindness and that I'd like to pay for the drink. She said, "Oh no, don't worry about it. it's on the house. Have a great day."

And I drove away happy and blessed, remembering the delicious drink from the morning before. Shocked, there is still kindness in the deep corners...

Honestly I was so excited to try this place. I am in Arlington so none close to me. The drinks looked great and sound good in pictures and descriptions. Sadly I did not like it. My order consisted of 1 medium coldbrew and 2 cake pops. First thing I have to say is they are sooo expensive. I paid almost $14 for my order of just that. The coffee had no flavor to me and the fact of it being so tiny for a medium drink. The cold brew comes black so any cream, flavor, foam costs extra. They advertised pumpkin cream cold brew but I didn't realize it came completely black nothing added. Hence all the extra charges. Alone I still paid almost $8 just for the tiny coffee. The cake pops are cake balls so no stick as one would assume so very messy if eaten in the car as they are refrigerated so they started sweating from all the condensation. My girls did not like them very much. Only upside is they are a great size. Overall I will not be back sadly. Customer service was great but not the coffee or price I...
