I can't begin to explain how little my expectations were when my wife got the Groupon. Honestly I thought give my my drink and my glasses and we'll be on our way. Pleasantly everything I thought was absolutely wrong. The tour was led by one of the owners and right away he had a personality that was very outstanding. His explenations of their past present and future was very informative. He explained the ciders you can try as well as others they have made in the past. Once the tour was over we went back to the very large bar which was completely packed. The service was slightly slow and it appeared that such a large crowd was a surprise and hopefully a great thing for them. Once we got our drinks-Sweet Carolina I was absolutely floored. I will explain it like I explained it to my wife. The flavor exploded in my mouth. We are drinking it again at home while I create this review! I plan to go back often because I prefer cider over beer and it's the best around. The tour was at 3PM and we would like to see the evening events when they have them. Plus the bottle line isn't complete yet so that would be something to see once its up and running.

Read moreTL;DR - Great cider, fantastic atmosphere, unimpressive, and declining, service.
Prior experience dictates that you'll wait for service, but rarely seats, here. We've waited 20ish minutes or so to get served here before. No big deal. Today we waited 20 minutes just for acknowledgement, with two empty growlers sitting on the bar in front of us, no other drinks, chatting, doing our best to get the attention of any of the four bartenders, none of us on phones.
We did eventually get acknowledgement from a bartender, and after saying he'd be right back, that bartender disappeared from behind the bar, so we waited another 15-20m before we gave up and left. Service used to be better, at this point it's easier to get cider from the farmers market or grocery store. If there's a better way of getting the attention of a bartender here I'm more than happy to try it, we really like the venue...
Read moreI am appalled at the lack of professionalism that Bull City Ciderworks - Lexington has for its patrons. Each year my daughter’s dance company holds their recital here, and the space is booked well in advance. This year, they double booked the date with a “block party” after our date was set. Then had the audacity to ask the dance company to move their time less than a week before. They moved our recital to a FILTHY GARAGE with no AC. They blasted music. This is repulsive behavior from a company that has had the loyalty of the dance company for many many years. On top of all this I had to go buy new tights for my daughter because she was filthy from being in the GARAGE they placed them in. She works hard ALL YEAR for this moment and to have it tarnished by a money hungry corporation...
