El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant - Hamburg — Restaurant in Lexington

What a disappointment! We hoped to hit Local Taco after a game, but they were closed. We thought about Drake's, but saw El Mariachi was still open. We had about 30 minutes to get in and out before closing. The last thing we wanted to do was hold someone over who wanted to get out on time. Restaurants are hard work, and we love to support locally owned places whenever possible.

The food was fine. Average, at best. The margarita was small and not particularly tasty or strong. Almost watery, which was fine since it was late.

What wasn't fine was the bill. I was charged 19.50 for the margarita because I asked for Don Julio Blanco. I've had good margaritas that were twice the size at half the price - and waaaaay tastier. When I questioned the server (who we had to wait for while she cleaned windows) she said it was the right price and began to screech bar stools across the floor to make sure we got out of there faster. We would've gladly gone out quicker had she been even slightly attentive.

Bottom line? Save your money and go elsewhere. This was an absolute and utter rip-off and we will never go back. It was $55 for one small margarita, spinach dip, a beer and fajitas. Had the quality held up, we would've understood. But that was not the case in any way,...

After traveling in the car for over 5 hours we wanted to find a Mexican restaurant as our group of 4 all love it. We found several places on the map in the area and chose here, the reviews and pictures looked great. When greeted to be seated we asked for a booth and it wasn’t acknowledged but still sat us at a booth. When ordering our food two of our group asked clarification questions about menu items which was responded with an annoyed response from the waitress and no details. We received our food and 3 of the 4 meals the meat was pretty overcooked, 1/4 meal was a burrito was all mush and after a couple bites it was clear it was inedible. Even as we were leaving it seemed we were getting looks from the other staff behind the bar area. We did not mention any of this as with the consistent overall service it felt almost like we did something. It was also a very slow time, many staff and only 3 tables. I rarely leave reviews especially negative reviews as I worked as a bartender/waitress for over 10 years and try to give as much grace...

l will start with what we ate was not bad, just not what we ordered. Asked about happy hour special. She said pitcher margarita $8. Bill came out $22. Ordered burrito, she asked chicken or steak, came out ground beef. When asked she said I'm sorry, steak is only for dinner. Ordered black beans, was served refried beans. She said I'm sorry I should learn the menu better. When I went to the restroom she was sitting in a booth on her phone, mind you she told us in the beginning she was the only waitress and apologized for the wait. in same booth was another employee laying down on his phone. When we asked to speak to a manager she said it was her and there was nothing she could do. Then asked to speak to the owner, she called and said take off the burrito. We said that was not sufficient. She said the owner was on the way. After realizing we were not leaving they finally took care of everything. Again, food wasn't bad just wish it was...
