Gold Star — Restaurant in Lexington

I have always been a big fan of Gold Star Chili. It was even my first part time job at 14 years old. So I have quite a deep understanding of how this restaurant works and how it should work. I can say with great confidence that every time I have visited this particular Gold Star Chili that they have been very fast to get my food prepared, and that their product was of the highest quality and taste of any Gold Star that I have ever visited. I have worked at three different locations, and I have eaten at this restaurant in at least four different states and at least 20 different locations. I can certainly say that this location has been consistently the best for service and quality and cleanliness of any of the locations I have ever visited. I have, in fact, NEVER had a bad experience or sub-par food given to me at this location. I have eaten here over the course of probably at least ten years or longer...since it opened, and even though employees have obviously come and gone, it is obvious to me that whoever runs this establishment demands the highest level of quality and professionalism from their employees and does a terrific job of translating that into a consistently terrific dining experiences over the many years I have been going there. Props to whoever is in charge at this restaurant! Keep doing what you've always done! And if you, like me, love Gold Star Chili, you can't possibly go wrong by choosing to eat at this...

Gold Star Chili on Man o' War Boulevard in Lexington, Kentucky is a great place to go for delicious and authentic Cincinnati-style chili. I recently had the four-way with bean and the cheese coneys with mustard and onions, and both dishes were absolutely delicious!

The four-way is a classic Cincinnati chili dish that consists of spaghetti, chili, beans, and shredded cheddar cheese. We recently stopped at Gold Star while driving from Louisville back to home. We have always enjoyed the Cincinnati Chili recipes, and so we're happy to find this location right off the Interstate on Man-O-War in Lexington.

First, I have to give accolades to our waitress, Janice! She was amazing. We seated ourselves after Janice greeted us as we entered. Janice was outgoing, friendly and super helpful.

We placed our order that was served very fast, made fresh and brought to our table immediately. I ordered two cheese coney dogs, piled high with shredded cheddar cheese on a soft fresh hot dog bun. Mouthwatering, if I had any complaint, it could only be that we don't have one of these restaurants nearby home. My wife ordered the two-way chili, and she loved every bite.

The restaurant including the restrooms was clean, bright and welcoming. Our food was great while our service was over the top and exceeded five stars.
