Waffle House — Restaurant in Lexington

There is a lot to say about this Waffle House and most of it isn't good. However, I'll start with the good stuff first. (For reference, the Waffle House was empty when we walked in and only three people entered from the time we started eating to the time we left. Also, one of them only ordered a coffee.)

Food came out quickly, the staff were super nice and friendly, the food was pretty good, and the bathrooms were somewhat nice. (I tossed in the bathrooms to help cushion the blow.)

As for the bad stuff....

We didn't get out drinks until after everyone had finished/almost finished their food. MOST of the food came out quickly, however, most of us didn't recieve half of out food until we had almost finished eating. (How does that even happen?) They took our order, however, the manager assigned someone brand new to us (I'm all about training rookies but assigning them to a group of five when even the most experienced of waiters have gotten our orders wrong?) and she was okay, however, the manager and the cooks spent the entire time disregarding her ticket that she drew up for our order and was constantly running up to us to ask about our orders. It was absolute chaos. (My brother didn't even get his order until I was half-way done with mine. Not to mention the fact that my mothers sausage sat on the counter for seven minutes because they never brought it to her.) Also, from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, the entire table with the barstools was covered in dishes and trash. I have seen less workers with and entire diner packed full be more coordinated and organizes than that.

In conclusion, I would NOT recommend anyone with a party over three to eat...

My new favorite Waffle House!

After a terrible experience at the Richmond Rd. Waffle House I decide to give this location a try and I am extremely glad I did!

It is so true that, “People make the difference!”

I get to this restaurant and the cook was taking a break outside. She gives me a friendly greeting before I even get in the front door. I walk to the counter and within about 30 seconds I am asked if I knew what I wanted and my order was taken and recited back to me for accuracy.

My food was prepared extremely well and the eggs were probably the best I have ever received from a Waffle House. Some people think to scramble an egg you just crack it and add maximum heat and cook it till the yolk doesn’t run! That makes an egg, but not a good scrambled egg. This Chef fluffed that egg to the point she made 2 look like about 3 ½! : )

The service was quick, the restaurant was clean, the service was friendly and the jukebox had some music playing in the background which had many people in the restaurant singing to themselves and dancing a bit, including my waitress and chef!

I didn’t even mention to them the bad service I got from a prior visit to the Richmond Rd. Waffle House I just left before coming here, so that had no bearing in how they treated me or the food they prepared. I bring this up only to say they weren’t under any pressure to right an earlier wrong as they weren’t even aware of it!

Waffle House connoisseur here. Avoid this Waffle House if possible. I've frequented this waffle House three times and I've had a poor experience each time. The first time, I walked into a fairly empty waffle House with maybe two or three seats occupied and attempted to place a to-go order. After waiting a couple minutes to be acknowledged, I was told that they were not taking carryout orders. My second visit was a dine-in. My waitress never came back to give a refill of any kind. I was actually missing an item and it was never received. My last visit was a takeout order. My order was taken fairly promptly, but because of confusion with staff my order was communicated to the Cook 5 minutes or so later. During that time, staff members were clearly frustrated with each other and where someone argumentative with each other. Multiple staff members were heard saying that they were behind and were visibly getting more frustrated. As my order was finished, a staff member recognized that my order was cooked wrong and this caused my order to be re-cooked. Overall, it was a mess.
