Update 4.9.2025: I recently ordered pick up right when they opened. We usually arrive around 9am when they have been open for a bit. The order was ready at the quoted time. It was just a simple order of Biscuits and Gravy. However, when I got home and started to eat the biscuit was dry...extremely dry. I have never had this happen as their biscuits are usually fresh. I assume that since I was one of the first customers I got the "leftovers" from the day before. Just be aware if you plan to go when they first open.
Update 4.14.2024: I had previously mentioned that I was glad Wild Eggs was taking reservations. I logged into their website a few days ago and tried to make a reservation for 6. I received a message "Please call the restaurant for specific availability". I called them the next day and specified the day, time, and number of guests. The customer service rep said I needed to make the reservation online. I reminded him that my guests exceeded 6 and that the website said I had to call. He said that they don't take reservations over the phone and suggested that someone in our party arrive before our desired time to check in to hold a table for us. So, if I want to bring more people, and spend more money, I need to inconvenience myself or someone in our party. The logic does not make sense. We chose to go to a competitor's restaurant instead.
Previous Post: This is a go to restaurant for our family. The food and service are always great. We have never had any issues during any of our visits. Previously, you would need to get to the restaurant super early to get seated without a wait. However, recently they have added an online reservation system which I appreciate. I have tried multiple things on the menu (Biscuits & Gravy, Crabby Patty Bennie, Kalamity Katie’s Border Benedict, Kelsey KY Brown, Breakfast Burrito, Farmers Market Skillet, and Potato Head Casserole) and they were all good. However, I would have to say that my favorites would be Potato Head Casserole, Kelsey KY Brown, and Biscuits & Gravy. My husband always gets the Buffalo...

I started with a Bluegrass Sunrise made with Buffalo Trace, cranberry juice and lemonade. The drink was not bad, and it was refreshing, but I would have liked more lemonade than cranberry juice. The bourbon was really hidden, so it could sneak up on you.
My fiancé tried the Breakfast Burrito served with home fries and black beans, and a side pancake. The burrito is made with a flour tortilla, scrambled eggs, chorizo, cheddar jack cheese, poblano peppers, onions and topped with queso, sour cream, pico, avocado and green onions. The burrito was working it with the ingredients. Everything was cooked and seasoned well, not spicy, and it just melted in your mouth. The fries were seasoned well, super crispy yet still pillowy in the middle. The black beans were cooked in bacon, and it stood out in the first of the bite. Personally, just add the salsa Verde, and it would be perfect. The pancake was fantastic but a little under done in the middle, but she said that worked for her.
I had the Mexico City Chilaquiles. The dish is made with corn tortillas, beans, salsa Verde, queso Blanco, over easy egg(ordered your way), chorizo (or chicken) and is served with home fries and shot of jugo de limón y chile, which is fresh lemon and lime juice and chili powder. I pour the shot on the dish, and it added a nice acid punch. The chorizo was cooked and seasoned well, the tortillas were fresh, the beans added an almost creamy texture to the bite. It was spicy and flavorful. I order my egg over easy, but it was touch overcooked, so I did not get that yolky mix to counter the spicy and acid. It could have used a touch more cheese. The fries again we're great.
Wild Eggs offers several breakfast favorites, omelettes, sandwiches, salads, mixed drinks and meal creations of their own. The wait staff was very friendly. Wild Eggs is Fat Man Approved...
Read moreWild Eggs, a restaurant part of a growing chain, has taken the idea of a traditional country breakfast to a new level and that gives one the opportunity to experience tastes unique to anything they may have previously associated with a farm fresh breakfast. I have tried a couple of different dishes there now and have been pleasantly surprised on each occasion by the flavors that I experienced as they were so unexpected and not something you would typically expect from a breakfast that relies so heavily on a country tradition. "Kalamity Katie's Border Benedict" takes Eggs Benedict and turns it into an entirely new dish, replacing traditional elements with "green chili cheddar corn cakes", chorizo, and a "queso fundido" that maintains the elements one loves about a Benedict but opens it up with a fresh array of flavors that have to be experienced to be believed. Equally as impressive was the "Wild Mushroom and Roasted Garlic Scramble. The eggs were light and fluffy and the mushrooms full of flavor which would have allowed the dish to carry itself on it's own but the addition of goat cheese and truffle oil took the dish to an entirely new level that was light, flavorful, and literally melted in my mouth. Wild Eggs" breakfast sides, the skillet potatoes and muffin, are excellent as well with the potatoes serving as a nice addition to the meal and the muffin as a wonderful dessert. Several establishments in Lexington and the surrounding areas pride themselves on re-inventing the country breakfast but no restaurant around has shown quite the originality and boldness to this end as Wild Eggs. And, more importantly, they have been utterly and...
