I placed a Door Dash order for Joella's directly through Door Dash. When I received my order at work I noticed as soon as I saw the bag it didn't look right. When I opened it, it was the complete wrong order. I first called the restaurant and spoke to someone there and let them know I received the wrong order. They sent me over to the manager on duty, Melissa. Asked for some information. My name, what my order was, what order I received. She then explained what happened. My dasher was picking up two separate orders, mine and someone else's, and it looks like she gave me the other persons order. Melissa was very helpful and wanted to make it right......but since I didn't order directly through them, I ordered through Door Dash, she told me what I should do and to contact Door Dash and try to get a re-order. If for some reason they weren't helpful to call her back and she would do something to make it right. Very nice gesture since it wasn't their vault. I contacted Door Dash and they could see where that Dasher did pick up two orders at that time from Joella's and could validate my situation. They could not do a re-order but could give me a full refund. They explained reorders are done if I placed the order directly through Joella's but their Dasher messed it up. Since I ordered through Door Dash they do refunds or credits. Anyways, I got my refund but I still wanted my food and to give Joella's my business since Melissa was so great to me. I called Joella's back and told them what happened and how I replaced my order directly through them online this time and just wanted to thank Melissa for all her help. Amazing customer service! It was a great experience. Melissa you rock, thanks for all your help and the...

I used to LOVE joellas food. It has not been the same in a while and last night sealed the deal for me. I ordered chicken and waffles through doordash I ordered it with tweener sauce. I've never had chicken and waffles before and thought I'd try something new. I LOVE the tweener chicken 😋 thsts really all I wanted but thought the waffles might be good even if for later. My food arrived the box NOR BAG WAS SEALED! That's disturbing to me. I used to work for doordash and grubhub and almost EVERY RESTAURANT is sealing their stuff up so needless to say I'm concerned also it caused my food to be cold. But that's not even why I'm writing the review. My chicken had no sauce. Literally just plain chicken tenders now if I wanted some plain chicken I could've literally went ANYWHERE the whole point of me choosing that as my dinner selection was for NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN . The waffles was soggy and inedible. Also I paid .60 for a sauce I didn't receive. Contacted doordash and they issued me a credit instead of just sending my correct order which is annoying I tried calling the restaurant but no answer? The website said it closed at 1030 it was 945 but literally no answer. I've been in food service my entire life and I understand that forgetting to put sauce on tenders is an unfortunate mistake but I can't look past unsealed bags disgusting waffles not receiving a sauce I paid for AND my food being wrong all while not being able to contact them. This is unacceptable and needless to say I won't be using my credit on you. I'm so disappointed this used to be a great place ill drive to Nashville before I...

We came in town to Harrodsburg for a family reunion. Kentucky, to me, is known for three things. Bourbon, horse racing, and fried chicken. I googled “best fried chicken in Kentucky” and this place came up on a lot of lists. I saw a 4.5 rating out of 1800+ reviews so I was expecting the best of the best. When we walked in it had all the green flags. Great decor, friendly staff, simple menu. All of these are great signs. When the food came to our table all of our giddy excitement was almost instantly wiped from our faces. The wings were massive which sounds good to the layman but this is actually one of the worst possible attributes a chicken wing can have. As expected the meat was flavorless and abnormal. Small wings are the best wings when it comes to flavor and overall quality. The breading was limp and lacked any semblance of crispness. We ordered fried pickles and those were also soggy, clearly made in advance and sat around. The mac and cheese tasted like something from an elementary school. The parmesan fries were the only thing worth eating. I don’t know if we just came on an off day or if the Kentuckians rating this place are being overly kind and generous. I’ve been to well over 300+ chicken-centric restaurants all over the country and sadly this ranks down there with the worst....

With so many great reviews, I have to hope my experience was just an “off” day. However, since it’s the only impression I had, I must say I am quite disappointed. The positives are that the seasoning was good, the chicken was tender, and the thin crispy fries were tasty. I was happy to see they cater to Gluten allergies. Here’s where my experience went wrong: 1) Customer service was not welcoming at all. Cashier gave the impression that they could care less whether or not you were there. 2) We placed our order at 5:56 PM and waited for our food until 6:25 PM. The restaurant was not at all busy (only one couple in line in front of us). 3) I ordered the gluten free tenders and they arrived on top of a piece of bread which is certainly not gluten free. 4) I ordered the 3 tenders meal but my plate arrived with only 2 tenders. 5) The trash bin was overflowing.

This place is an excellent venue for fried chicken. Not to mention it has a lot of character to boot. Both my son and I ordered the 3 piece chicken tenders meal with two sides. I ordered my chicken “Hot” while my son ordered his one step below on the scale. The tenders were temperature hot and moist. My sauce had some heat, but not so much so to overwhelm the taste of the chicken. (I did not try my son’s cooler version.). For my sides, I chose the collard greens and Mac and cheese, and both were fantastic. We split the dipping sauce between the orders, a both were delicious. There are sodas available including birch beer, which is a childhood favorite of mine. There are also local beers available on tap, in a self serve area And for you non-meat patrons, the do have a vegan option as well, including a vegan chicken tenders.
