Hard pass for a few reasons.
It was not busy, maybe 3 other tables, but it took nearly 45 minutes for us to get our food. There were only two of us.
While waiting for our food, we overheard the table next to us. There were 3 of them and one was missing a meal. They brought out her entrée after apologizing. She flagged the waiter down a few minutes later saying she was still waiting on the side of beans that came with her meal. Waiter seemed to push back that it wasn't included, but gave her a side anyway. She asked for the menu to show him that it was included.
I ordered the tempura shrimp tacos. I wish I would've taken a picture so you could see them. Literally 3 flour shells each with 3 pieces of breaded shrimp. 90% sure that they were supposed to be topped with a slaw, but there was nothing on them. It did come with some shredded lettuce and 1 slice of tomato on the side, as well as rice and chipotle sauce. So I topped the tacos myself, not the biggest deal, until I took a bite. That shrimp was literally from the frozen isle of the grocery store and tasted freezer burnt. Super dry, super bad flavor.
My husband and I don't complain (although I should have). I didn't eat half my meal, so when the waiter took my plate he asked how the food was. My husband enjoyed his (shrimp enchilada) but said I didn't enjoy mine. He asked what was wrong and I told him it tasted like a freezer. His response was to laugh and say "that's crazy."
We didn't complain besides that and didn't ask for any refunds, but my tacos alone were 20 bucks. Which in and of itself is crazy pricing for tacos. We left the building laughing at how wack the entire experience was.
Tldr: long wait, bad service, bad food....
Read moreThird time at Mama Tequila's and I was VERY disappointed. Our server, Turner, was a nice enough fellow but was inattentive to say the least. I ordered the three salsa combo all in salsa Verde (I've ordered it before and it's delicious) but Turner never brought it to the table and when I asked about it he said he would check with the kitchen. In the meantime, our orders arrived and mine was wrong. When Turner came back to the table (without the salsa) I pointed out the mistake and he double checked our ticket and resubmitted the order. 10 minutes later my correct order arrived. I asked for more napkins and the salsa Verde. He left and came back about 5 minutes later to check on us but with no salsa and no napkins. I gave up at that point. A couple minutes later I got up from my seat and got some napkins from the bar. To his credit, the salsa was not on our check. There was no apology for the incorrect order and no explanation for the lack of salsa and napkins. I should have said something to somebody about the poor service but I just wanted to leave. Perhaps someone from the restaurant will see this review and reach out to me although I'm not going to cross my...
Read moreI would give negative starts for service if it was an option. We had a group of 9 that sat down late Friday evening. Our server told us that the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes which was fine because we were just planning on getting chips, queso, guac, and multiple pitchers of margaritas. During our meal, the server and the lady who brought our chips took them away WHILE we were eating them. We thought it was maybe because the kitchen was closing, but This was before the kitchen closed and we were the ONLY table out of 5 that they did this to. They brought us plastic cups and we were informed that we had to pour our drinks in them if we wanted to keep them. The lady LITERALLY took away the salsa from the table as I was dipping my chip in it. When we tried to ask, we were not given a reason as to why they did this. Our tab was over $400 for the worst service I have ever gotten in...
