Maurice's BBQ Piggie Park — Restaurant in Lexington

Could not even order waited over 10 minutes then left. I have eaten here before and the service was slow but I could not even order this time there was a couple sitting on the bench inside when we arrived and 1 car in the drive through. There were 2 people working and the woman twice said she would be right with us but kept talking with the other worker. I am rather patient and do not mind waiting especially when someone is busy but there looked like 2 or 3 things on the grill and they were standing over it not working it. It was well over 5 minutes before we were acknowledged couple minutes later we were again told they would be right with us. The kitchen is opened so I know they were not that busy I've worked as a short order cook and I could clearly see there was no need for 2 people to hover over the little bit of food that was on the grill. The place appears to be substation of sorts not a full blown restaurant of Maurice’s. It is run down and looks like there is no upkeep. When my wife and I walked in, there were only 2 people working. We ordered and they were out of macaroni and cheese, then we were told they were out of sweet potato fries. Out of potato salad and green beans. We should’ve left but we tried to press on. Food came and pork was dry. Hash was discolored. Found a hair on hush puppy and coleslaw was room temperature. Lemonade was nasty and spoiled tasting. Bathroom was located on outside of building and employee could not find the key. Needless to say, we will not be visiting this establishment ever again. Just for information sake, we have been to the big Maurice’s restaurant and it was very good but not this one. These types of places can give false impressions and are bad...

Where should I start... well first of all I'm not from here, my husband and I are visiting from Columbus, Ohio. Our family lives in Gilbert so we were on a search for some good BBQ. We placed a order over the phone and drove in to pick it up. Well once we got to the Main St location, they didn't have a order for us. After doing some research it turns out that I called a different location, however Christine the Store Manager (I think that was her name) and the other other gal (small blonde) was super friendly about it and made it up to us. They took our order and even offered us a complimentary drink. They made a huge mistake small and I enjoyed my time in the restaurant! Food was GREAT! They both deserve a raise for their customer service skills!...
